This September we’re on stage at Maison&Objet in Paris.

The Accor Design Awards turn ten. Ten years of handing young designers the thing the industry almost never gives them early: a real brief, a real client, and someone who says yes.

We know what that’s worth, because nobody handed it to us. Over twenty years ago we started with private interiors - one person, one home. Then bars and restaurants, where the emotion has to land in a single evening. Then hotels, where it has to hold for a thousand guests at once.

So at The Talks we’re not going to talk about how a hotel should look. We’ll talk about what happens after you win: who mentors you, who takes the risk on you, and how a first project becomes a career.

If you’re a student, a young designer, or the person who decides whether to hire one - come.

A wall kept the way the cliff left it - every ridge, still the ochre it came in. Beside it, a black slab polished to a mirror, angled to hand that ochre face back. The whole job is the seam. The line where machined edge gives way to raw ridge.

Turns out the straight line was the hard part.

Walls that ripple like sculpted sand. Brushstrokes that could be African scarification - or a painter's hand.

Two floors, one story told twice. Upstairs: golden light, a liquid-gold bar, monochrome art against soft bouclé. Downstairs, the sanctuary - darker, sharper, charred wood under white linen, gold against rough black metal.

Elegance and wildness. Heat and cool. Europe and Africa in one room.

We don't design restaurants. We design desire. 🖤

Where a wall should be, we hung chains, floor to ceiling. The next room is right there, and everyone in it is slightly out of focus. You get a corner to yourself, and nobody had to build you a box to sit in.

This one's a rooftop, up above the treetops.
We didn't want the usual rooftop-bar thing — glass, steel, a skyline you've seen a hundred times. So we went warm instead. A lot of green, brass and crystal catching the light, terrazzo, soft seats, the whole place open to the sky.

Honestly? It's hard to leave. And for us, that's the job done.

Look closely: there's nothing actually on these walls.

The metal screens are cut by hand, and when the light comes through, it throws this shifting foliage across the stone and the wood. No pattern, no paint - just shadow that moves as you walk past.

You don't really notice it. You just feel calmer and can't say why. Which is the whole point 😏

Escape wasn’t just the name.

We designed the second a guest forgets what day it is: art hung like a private collection, a bar cast from glass and crystal into a single sculpture, light tuned to the exact hour the sky turns gold.

Nobody likes talking about the menu. Guest leave more relax than they walked in. And It’s not luck, it’s goal. And it’s why the room status full.

We designed this residence as an extension of Boka Bay, not as an object placed within it.
The landscape doesn’t stop at the terrace.

Limestone cliffs become sculpted travertine, handcrafted brass catches the shifting mountain light, and the changing blues of the bay quietly travel through glass, textiles and reflections.

Not a view to admire.
A landscape to live inside.
