Giving our customers a real little glimpse into the Wiehler Studio.
…even if making this video was much harder than we expected 😄
So many fails, so much laughing… and almost no proper footage of the actual orders this time.

Usually, either Vesna or Irene packs your orders on weekends. But since tomorrow we’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day with our families and children, we decided to do it together today.

One thing we always talk about while packing:
even with the huge Wiehler Gobelin archive, we still get surprised by what you order. We’ve been packing together like this for about a month now and we still haven’t had the exact same order twice. 🪡🧵🪡

Mit Katalogen wurde Wiehler groß.

Über viele Jahrzehnte wurden unsere Gobelin Stickbilder über gedruckte Wiehler Kataloge bestellt. Damals lagen den Katalogen Bestelllisten bei, auf denen Kunden ihre Wunschmotive auswählten. Viele erinnern sich noch gerne daran. ❤️

Der große Jubiläumskatalog von 1993 — erschienen zum 100-jährigen Bestehen von Wiehler Gobelin — war der vorerst letzte große Katalog unseres Hauses. Heute ist er ein besonderes Stück Wiehler Geschichte. Viele der darin enthaltenen Motive sind noch immer in unserem Onlinshop www.wiehler-gobelin.com erhältlich und versendet wird auch noch immer in die ganze Welt!

How do you choose the right frame for needlepoint? 🪡🖼️

The frame changes the entire character of hand-stitched needlepoint. Some designs look beautiful with a classic wooden frame and mat, while others feel softer and more modern without a mat.
For professional needlepoint framing, the textile should always be prepared carefully before framing. Needlepoint on Hardanger canvas with 100% cotton embroidery floss should be gently hand washed, dried flat, blocked, and lightly steamed from the back so the fabric sits straight inside the frame.
Another important detail in custom framing is the space between the embroidery and the glass. Needlepoint should never be pressed directly against the glass, because fabric and cotton fibers react to humidity and temperature over time.
The right frame does more than protect the embroidery — it becomes part of the artwork itself.

Wir sind Irene und Vesna — und seit diesem Monat verantwortlich für Wiehler Gobelin.

Die vergangenen Wochen waren für uns etwas ganz Besonderes.
Viele herzliche Nachrichten, wunderbares Feedback, viele neue Kontakte und wir durften die ersten Pakete versenden.🪡🧵
Viele kennen Wiehler Gobelin als eine historische deutsche Marke für besonders schöne und zeitlose Gobelins - 1893 in Berlin von Jakob Wiehler gegründet - unglaublich, oder?

Seit 2020 befindet sich Wiehler Gobelin jedoch in Österreich — zunächst in Wien, heute in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.
Unser neuer Standort liegt im südlichen Herzen Europas, an der Grenze zu Slowenien und Italien.

Uns ist wichtig, Wiehler mit Respekt weiterzuführen:
mit hochwertigen Materialien, sorgfältiger Vorbereitung und echter Nähe zu unseren Kunden.
Gleichzeitig möchten wir neue Ideen, frische Inspirationen und moderne Akzente einbringen.
