Today, The Big Blue Crew, Flinders Uni Underwater Club, OzFish, and Adelaide Canoe Club joined forces for a Dive Against Debris and Beach Clean-up Day.
We had 27 kind-hearted volunteers, including one doggo! They dedicated their time to leave the Onkaparinga River in a better state than they found it, and they certainly achieved that.
We collected over 60 kg of rubbish, an astonishing amount of soft plastics—the most I’ve ever seen at a cleanup I have organised.
What did we find?
131 butts
106 sinkers
42 hooks
36 Glass bottles
