Today is Star Wars Day, and what better way to celebrate than recreating the best character?! 🥰

Princess Leia is an absolute badass - when I grow up I definitely want to be her 😍

This is one of my favourite things that I have ever made.

Not only are angler fish super cool in general - imagine living in the deepest depths of the oceans - but what we picture when we talk about anglerfish are the females. That's right, the big, scary-looking badasses of the deep ocean are the ladies of the species. Male angler fish are much smaller and do not have the lure. The females also do all the hunting. Talk about girl power!

There are also more than 200 species of anglerfish, and they live at various depths, not just the deep, scary bits!

So, cool fish facts aside, this project was something that came to me when I discovered Lion Brand Yarn DIY Glow at Spotlight. As soon as I saw it, I had to make one of these fierce females with it! Paired with Flinders Cotton in 8ply, she looks amazing.

Happy New Year! It's been a strong start in crochet this year, since I have been lucky enough to enjoy 2 weeks off work.

So here we have the first project for 2025! Opossums are so cute, although maybe not as cuddly as our Australian possum friends.

I gave her a prehensile tail, but as it turns out, cartoons have lied to me, and opossums don't really hang from them like I thought!

This is another pattern I have wanted to complete for a while. I love her so much, I might need to make her some little babies as well.

Winner winner, burger dinner 😍

First and second place at the Mount Gambier Show ❤️ who can say no to burger booties and a watermelon bracelet - they are definitely good enough to eat!*

*I don't recommend eating crochet - it's hell on your digestion.

My entries for the Mount Gambier Show are all packed up to be dropped off for judging tomorrow 😍 only a few small entries this year, but next year I hope to have something truly spectacular in the running.

(Yep, the bracelets are also crocheted!)

This year I decided to focus on just making things that I enjoyed and things that made me smile. These certainly did that! 😍🍔 these baby booties were super fun and I hope a little baby looks simply adorable in them.

Made with Hobbii 100% rainbow cotton yarn.
