Wild Treasures

Wild Treasures I love dabbling in art and making creations to bring a smile to someone's face. It has always been a go-to in my life. Every bit of love goes into everything.

From sunny Agnes Water, Qld

Love for art, animals and protecting our native species πŸ’™

Check out my albums for original paintings on loads of prodcuts under my red bubble shop My creations are inspired mostly by nature, using things from nature and acquired store bought items. If I could craft everyday, all day - I would be one happy person. But I do have a Part time job that is rather physical,

enjoy outdoor activities like running, bike, surfing, supping. Anything outside in the sun! I have 4 acres to tend to (thankfully over half is still bush for the wildlife! A family with 2 gorgeous kids, 4 dogs, 3 cats, loads of chickens and the visiting wildlife. Any purchase of my products brings a massive smile on my face and gratitude it is something, someone else would like.

We Are Dingo is a pop art Collab portrait of the Dingo to encourage education around their colouring within Australia. DON'T LET THE NSW GOVERNMENT ERADICATE OUR APEX PREDATOR ! πŸ•

If you can take a few minutes of your time to use your voice for our Australian Dingoes - please do

The NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into Dingoes in National Parks is open for submissions until July 17.
This is aa good chance to end the cruel "wild dog" loophole and ban 1080 baiting in protected areas.

Writing a submission sounds daunting, but it doesn't have to be.

Jen Parker has written a template to help you get started.

You can take important action to protect New South Wales Dingoes by making a submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry.
Here:

They must be done before closing on the 17th July - 2026 πŸ™πŸΎ

Subject: Urgent: Support Federal and State Protection for Dingoes in NSW

To: The NSW Legislative Council Animal Welfare Committee

I am writing to urge the committee to grant full native species protection to the Dingo (Canis dingo) and immediately halt lethal "wild dog" control programs in NSW National Parks.
Key Reasons for Protection:

Ecological Necessity: As Australia's apex predator for over 11,000 years, Dingoes maintain ecosystem balance via trophic cascades, suppressing feral cats and foxes to protect threatened wildlife.
Flawed Classification: The "wild dog" label is a linguistic loophole that allows a native species to be trapped, shot, and poisoned with 1080 inside protected parks. Recent genomic research proves the vast majority of these animals are high-purity Dingoes.

Lethal Failure: Aerial baiting disrupts stable packs, fracturing social structures and increasing the likelihood of domestic dog interbreeding. True conservation requires Predator Smart Farming (like Maremma guardian dogs) instead of eradication.
Cultural Disrespect: Dingoes hold profound Cultural and spiritual significance for First Nations people. Current management practices ignore this ancestral connection.
I request that the NSW Government reclassify the Dingo as a protected native species across all public lands and replace lethal baiting with non-lethal, science-backed management.
Sincerely,

"Off she goes into the wind, traveling far and wide - to arrive to a place to be admired, appreciated and understood."

I have just had tears of gratitude for this last couple of weeks, especially after wondering if it's all worth doing or if I should focus on other things.
I'm thankful for the signs and nudges that keep telling me to keep going.

Cannot wait to see it on it's new wall!

Fragments Of Our Imagination

Inspired by the Dingoes in Australia again - who are so misunderstood, unaccepted and berated as feral. Controversial.
Even though they've lived on Australian land for well over thousands of years, and co - existed with the Thylacine for thousands of year until European settlement - yet get blamed for having wiped them out.
They are in so many traditional Aboriginal stories where co living existed between them both.
The water diviners.
The blankets and extra body warmth through the cold.
The help with hunting.
The Dingo deserves to be protected all through out Australia - not baited and poisoned, not trapped, not shot or hung in trees.
Let them exists before they become a fragment of our imagination - like so many other Australian animals already gone, or slowly disappearing all because of Man and Ego.

Absolutely honored to receive recognition and an award! πŸ˜πŸ’™
So very grateful! My van broke down too on the way home from Bundy the other day, so that will help pay for it 🀣

Big thank you to judge Kevin!
All the sponsors and of course the many Volunteers that keep the show running! If you see them and visit the exhibition, be sure to thank them!

If you would like to know about the painting -

Dingoes take up a lot of my heart and hold a lot of meaning to me.
The Dingo is painted in rainbow colours to portray they come in a variety of colours - not just ginger. Ones of other colours can get confused as dogs gone wild, when in fact they are true Dingo. This one asks you to look in his eyes and see their soul. The same soul that you would carry. I hope while I am alive, the Dingo is protected throughout all of Australia and given the recognition they deserve.

Congratulations to Jacqui Thomson, awarded Second Prize in Category 2 - Works on Paper 🎨

Sponsored by Maiden Homes, this category featured 58 entries and showcased an incredible range of artistic talent.

Jacqui’s acrylic work, β€œWe are Dingo”, was praised by the judge as:

β€œStrong graphic work. Not overdone. Colour and focus of eyes keep you engaged.”

A wonderful achievement β€” congratulations Jacqui!

I look at absolutely everything to try to lock it into my memory of colours and shades.
Fire and where it is hottest, the trees and where they may hold the most moisture after rain, the colours at sunrise and sunset on the ocean and how they go a tinge of purple. Animals fur and patterns...
I love it

I may look like I'm thinking deeply about something, but I'm really just looking at what's going on πŸ˜†
