There’s a certain kind of person we keep meeting. They’ve stopped decorating for guests and started designing for how it feels at six o’clock on a Tuesday when the kids are finally fed and there’s nothing left to prove to anyone.

Bilgola Plateau was always going to be about the view. Pittwater has a way of doing that, quietening everything else down until the water is the only thing left to look at.

As a Northern Beaches interior design studio, our brief here was simple to say and harder to do. Build a coastal home as calm as the water it looks out over. Custom joinery designed around this family’s everyday, not just how a room should look. A bedroom that holds you rather than performs for you. Every detail guided by our client’s own aesthetic, so the finished home feels entirely theirs.

I’m feeling so completely and utterly sad tonight to hear about the devastating passing of Jen Jen Bishop, interior design blogger + award winning journalist - such a gorgeous, bright firecracker of a human. We met at a friend’s party about 20 years ago and spent a good hour discussing what our choice of lipstick colour said about us - hers fabulous fuchsia, mine boring beige 😂

Her literally dragged me out of PND when I worried my creativity had been sucked dry by babies. I found solace and community and an immense love of photography.

Jen fought the fight we all dread with bravery, grace and love. My heart aches for her beautiful family - what a legacy she left behind 👄🕊️
