Another celebrity quicksketch for ya

This was the biggest portrait I've done so far, and it was such a beautiful challenge to work so big, but this beautiful girl deserves nothing less. What an absolute honour it was to memorialise this gorgeous young woman who sadly passed away before her time.

A hand drawn portrait is a wonderful way to commemorate a loved one who has left us. Having lost my father recently, I understand how important it is to feel like the people involved with our grieving rituals have the utmost care and reverence for the process. That's why it was such an honour to be a part of Gabi's story and I'm so pleased to be able to create this piece for her family.

These two are soooo cute, it was hard to even choose just one picture to draw of them. I always just love a chance to use my pastels and the grey paper though. Doing the highlights was so fun, that hair omg 😍

My son has the most interesting coloured eyes, they're so fun to draw! I'm using about six different pastels for this, doing the face with .com.au extra soft square pastels and finishing off the highlights with .a.paris pastel pencils. But I'm a terrible perfectionist so I'll have to tweak it just a liiittle bit more...

Pets are beloved members of the family and their lives can make such an impact on our own. I had the privilege of knowing beautiful Gwen, and the challenge of drawing her! Capturing the absolute presence of this black beauty was intimidating, but it was the perfect opportunity to test out my electric eraser. Watch this space...
