Tomorrow at the Bowral School Markets, Papou's Kitchen will be stocking a selection of authentic Greek treats straight from Greece.
• ION Chocolate – Milk Hazelnut and Dark Chocolate with Almond (pure chocolate, nothing artificial)
• Chocofreta Bars – the Greek favourite often compared to Ferrero Rocher
• Kosmidi Gavrili Coconut Cocoa Bars – coconut covered in rich cocoa (similar to a summer roll)
• Pasteli Sesame Bars – made with 100% honey and nuts (and nothing else)

Papou’s Kitchen is back at the Bowral Public School Market on the 23rd of May, that's this Saturday!

If you love authentic Greek food but don’t always have the time to cook from scratch, come and visit us for a range of homemade Greek meals, freshly prepared right here in the Southern Highlands and available as a convenient frozen take-home option. Perfect for busy families or anyone with a busy lifestyle who still wants a proper home cooked meal at the end of the day.

Available frozen meals on the day:
Moussaka
Pastitsio
Soutzoukakia (meatballs in a red fragrant sauce)
Spanakopita (for the vegie lovers)
Eggplant Parma (also for the vegies out there, or add a chicken schnitzel to it)
Tiropita (a savory cheese pie)

We will also have "Papou’s Homemade Lemon and Garlic Marinade" available in jars – perfect for oven roast chicken, lamb or potatoes.

In desserts we have:
Bougatsa – a custard filled pastry sprinkled with an icing sugar/ cinnamon mix, perfect for breakfast or an on-the-go snack

Galaktoboureko – a classic baked custard dessert wrapped in filo pastry, bathed in a sweet syrup

All food is made by Papou’s Kitchen using traditional family recipes.

From the team at Papou's Kitchen, we'd like to say a big thank you to all the people who stopped by our little stall on Saturday at the Bowral School market to buy something from us, or even to just have a look and say hi.

We had a great day as you can see by the photos, we sold out and our freezers are now pretty much empty!

We also want to give a big thanks to our neighbour Rob who helps us set and pack up at every market, what a legend!

We will not be at the April market as we will be working hard to restock our freezers and will be back in May. In the meantime, if you want to restock your freezer with our meals, you can contact us directly or visit the Hot Canary butcher in Bowral to pick up some of our family sized meals from them.

We are at the Bowral Public School market now, come down and say hello!

Just a reminder that Papou’s Kitchen will be at the Bowral Public School Market on Saturday the 28th of March, that's tomorrow!

For this market we are introducing Tiropita to the menu, which is a savory cheese pie. In Greece, Tiropita is a staple of every bakery and is widely consumed as a mid-morning snack or part of a meal.

Just a note to the regulars, we will be taking a break from the April markets, but back in May, so stock up tomorrow!

All items are freshly prepared by Papou’s Kitchen right here in the Southern Highlands using traditional family recipes.

Papou’s Kitchen is excited to announce that our family sized Spanakopita and Soutzoukakia are now available through Hot Canary Butcher in Bowral.

Our traditional Spanakopita is handmade (using my Mum's recipes), layered with a crisp golden pastry and filled with a spinach and feta mixture. Made with olive oil (the good stuff) and with high quality Greek Epiros Feta. It’s perfect for an easy family dinner (keeping the vegetarians happy) or keeping in the freezer for when you need a quick, home cooked meal.

We are also now stocking our Soutzoukakia — authentic Greek, football shaped meatballs in a rich tomato sauce, just add rice and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Perfect for feeding your family (or football team).

Both are prepared locally in the Southern Highlands by Papou’s Kitchen.

You can now pick them up directly from Hot Canary Butcher in Bowral (say hi to Daniel, Lauren, Tony and the team).
