Last year I was approached by a dear friend who asked if I could arrange for a quilt to be completed. The exquisite hand embroidered blocks of the 12 days of Christmas was quite the challenge. This project became a group effort with a couple of ladies from my Bay Quilters Wynnum group. I managed to sew the blocks together and Mary finished it with beautiful quilting. We entered it in the Mt Gravatt show and are delighted that it won first prize in the Group category.

Most quilters are fabric hoarders and I'm no exception! A couple of months ago while looking through my fabric drawers I came across a couple of jelly rolls I'd purchased ages ago and decided I should use them. My 'doggy' quilt is the result with the backing also keeping with the 'doggy' theme. I think it's so cute. It's to be donated to the Children's Hospital in Brisbane in the hope it can bring a little comfort.

I've been busy refreshing my supply of these small boxy bags which are the perfect size to carry doggy p**p bag rolls and clip easily onto the dog lead meaning no more forgetting bags. A washing bag is included when it's time for a wash.

Last year a dear friend asked if I could put together a quilt using some candlewick blocks she'd made many years ago. This was a first for me working on such an heirloom so I decided to take photos of the steps needed to complete this lovely quilt. Sadly my friend passed away recently and it was so touching to know how thrilled she was with it - staying with her right up to the end.

Just finished the binding on my machine embroidered candlewick quilt. Being cream on cream quite hard to photo - suffice to say I love it. For the backing I used a 50 year old beautiful hand embroidered table cloth. It had seen many dinner parties but for the past few years sat unused in my linen cupboard. Now it has a new lease and hopefully can be admired for the next 50 years.
