《凉凉的雨夜与一锅药材鸡汤》

昨天像个烘炉一样热，
今天却下了一整天的雨。
凉凉的、冷冷的，空气里都是舒服的味道，
好像一瞬间又回到了冬天。

关了电脑，下了班，
我快手快脚地准备了药材鸡汤，想补一补根本。
今晚的药材鸡汤，有小时候阿婆煮的味道～
那种温暖、踏实、安心的香气。
味道百分百，超“鸡”开心！

老公下班回家后，说我直接带两个孩子出去，反正都是顺路。
于是他顺手把周六买的那份
「地中海风味真空低温腌制羊小腿」拿出来做晚餐，
又加了些配料，还把周日晚餐剩下的那只德国猪脚切成四份，
当作我们西式晚餐。
不然两个冰箱都要塞爆了😂

我和孩子们先各喝了一小碗鸡汤，
再带他们去上课外活动。

回到家后，晚餐刚好弄好。
洗个澡，便开始用餐。
儿子还笑着说，
今晚的甜点可以不用给他一份——太饱啦😂

这场雨下得好久，
像在帮城市洗掉夏天最后一点燥气。

今晚的药材鸡汤，也成了我们明天的早餐。
期待明早女儿梦寐以求的「鸡汤海岛饭」🏝️
我也期待着能带一份去上班。
总让我想起小时候，
去隔壁小店吃完鸡饭再去上课的日子。
只可惜，我的孩子们偏偏爱吃面包当早餐😓

（热烘烘的一天〉

原本计划好今天要外出用餐庆祝女儿的生日，没想到一踏出办公楼门外——那阵三点的热风，竟然能烫得我脸颊发烫。

回到家，儿子就问：“妈咪，我们晚餐吃什么？”
他知道今天是妹妹的11岁生日。往年这个特别的日子，我们都会到外面吃一顿，但今天外头实在太热了，热得像个烤炉。

我想了想说：“不如我们就在家吃吧。反正一出门是热，到餐厅还是热，吃饱回来依旧是热，不如省省这份折腾。”

刚好昨天买了些sashimi，那就拿来做今晚的寿司🍣吧。
昨天也买了一粒蛋糕，因为昨晚晚餐吃得迟，就没吃甜点。

所以今天刚好不用再买新的蛋糕，孩子梦寐以求的生日蛋糕，就在今晚登场🎂。

说起来，我中午只吃了一个三文治可颂，这时候觉得有点饿，于是又下单订了个Pizza Hut。想着先填个肚子，再休息一下才来准备寿司🍣。

晚餐就这样简单解决了。吹个蜡烛、唱唱歌、吃个蛋糕，结束这温馨的小庆祝。孩子们开心，我也觉得踏实。

只希望明天能下一场雨，
好赶走今天这股热烘烘的空气。

went to the Jan Powers Farmers Market at the Powerhouse in New Farm with no plan to buy anything… but the moment I spotted my favourite orchids, everything changed 🌸💜

After a friendly chat with the vendor, we decided to visit their orchid shop after a family lunch at New Farm Park. I thought I’d bring home just one… but these blooms were too beautiful to resist!

Here’s a short video of the 3 orchid pots I picked — 2 purple and 1 pink — now brightening up my piano, dining table, and coffee table.

🌿✨ These orchids bring calm, beauty, and joy every day during my “me time” and family meals.

This isn't just tofu — it's a bite of my childhood.

Every Monday night, I’d walk with neighbours to the pasar malam near our kampung, just to get that spicy, stuffed tofu and banana leaf-wrapped bihun — all for 20 sen.
Now, I’m recreating that memory at home with my kids.

My son helped with the veggies, my husband with the bean sprouts, and my daughter made the chili sauce with calamansi from our backyard.

A full family effort, and a plate full of love.

Simple ingredients, unforgettable taste — a flavour you can’t buy with money.
