My first actual clothing item.

A Bluey and Bingo themed dress. Dark blue yoke at the top, with layered colours following.

Turned out a bit thicker than intended, even though I went up 6 hooks sizes as I went - my tension is tiiiiiight!!!

No photos on my little model yet. The dress is a new sensory experience given the yarn and weight. Hopefully some cute little pics to come though!! 🤞

One question being asked by friends and family - why the name "Jacana Krafts"?

Well, mostly, I wanted it to be my initials, JK. The "Krafts" part was easy.

But the J was a bit trickier. My mum has instilled a fondness of Australian native flora and fauna, so I did some googling for indigenous flora and fauna and came up with "Jacana." Otherwise known as the Comb-Crested Jacana.

From my brief research "The Jacana is found throughout coastal and near-coastal northern and eastern Australia, from about Derby in the west to Sydney in the east. ... observed it at numerous locations including wetlands near Byron Bay, New South Wales; the Nerang River and Beaudesert, south-east Queensland; and Yellow Water, Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory."

I then used AI to generate my profile picture - a Jacana with a ball of yarn.

And there you have it - Jacana Krafts was born!

I currently have three patterns that I adore.

The simple Granny Square, the Sunflower or Daisy (or even Gerbera!!) and my favourite, which for now I am classing as the Petunia.

Please comment or pm me if you wish to purchase a set of handmade earrings, along with your colour choices. All made to order, lead time 3-5 days at current.
