This was the most productive painting month of possibly my whole life!

That’s in large part thanks to my renewed enthusiasm to use my watercolours but also a surprise painting that came at the end of the month.

In the July vlog I’m sharing the process, the artist musings and the finished works themselves in this jam-packed video. See the link in my bio✨🎥

Introducing the next artwork in A Travellers Journal:

‘Overcome’

If you’ve followed me since the beginning (first hello I love you) you’ll know I’m a sucker for an ornate lamp. Not sure why exactly, I love the ornateness and dedication to details. Much the same as historic architecture I suppose.

Something about this scene caught my attention while walking the streets of Strasbourg and so I simply had to paint it. I’ve been similarly in love with my new BLUE PINE ARTS® ✨Handmade Watercolor Supplies paper and the way it evenly dries the water made getting that mottled glass effect so much easier to accomplish!

If you want to see me bring this to life make sure to head to my YT this Sunday where I’m sharing heaps of clips and anecdotal reflections.

I painted this in 4 DAYS

And I have to say I’m kind of obsessed with it, the colouring, composition, brushwork. Yep loud and proudly declaring how much I love my own artwork😆

Introducing ‘Mornings on Lake Como’

I have other artworks for A Travellers Journal that I completed before this one but I couldn’t wait. I threw out my posting schedule and simply had to share this artwork with you as soon as possible!

I captured heaps of progress shots although no time for a nice “reveal reel” ~ that will have to wait until my return from holidays.

There’s more to discover about this artwork, I’ll share it soon, but also my July blog and email subscribers get the full details, so keep your eyes out for that 💛

Tonight I’m giving you the big sister advice I often need to hear myself.

Girl we’ve got to start trusting.

We’ve all got to start somewhere! Be it an artwork, a new hobby, new career, life is full of blank pages and fresh beginnings.

That can be scary.

Scarier still is the fear we’re messing it all up!

Trust is like a muscle we have to practice, and remind ourselves often to trust in ourself!

Do you know the number of times I’ve worried I’ve messed up an artwork only to pull it together in the end??!

More times than I’d like to admit.

Starting something new, pushing through the ugly stages and worrying you’ll mess it all up are scary moments!

More importantly they’re normal ✨

I hope this post reminded you to be gentle with and trust in yourself! You’ve got this!!

Save this for next time you need the reminder (I know I have!)

26/07/2026

In case you need the reminder 💛 it may take longer than we’d like or a different path than we envisaged. But by and large things have a way of working out in the end🫶🏻

Oh and this painting…. it’s already done😉 Talk about having trust in the process, I painted this in just 3 days! I can’t wait to share more with you soon.
