Wood carving is taught in Waldorf Education because working with our hands teaches so much more than just how to make something.

It asks children to slow down, concentrate, assess risk, problem solve and persevere. Through carving wood, children learn patience, coordination, confidence and respect for both tools and materials.

There is something deeply valuable about children creating something real and useful with their own hands in today’s world 🤍
