If you could choose a spot for this plant in your home, what room would you choose, and why? 👇

Okay… can we talk about these leaves? 🤍

Every leaf is a little different, and that’s exactly what I love about this plant.

The soft variegation adds colour without being overwhelming, while those organic shapes bring movement and life into a room.

It’s proof that nature doesn’t have to be bold to make a statement. 🌿

🌿 Seeing with a designer’s eye.

I could have simply looked at these leaves and thought, what a beautiful plant.

But when I look at them as a designer, I see so much more.

The deep greens and soft creams create a natural colour palette.
The intricate variegation becomes a pattern.
The veins create structure and movement.
The curves and overlapping leaves create rhythm.
And the sunlight and water droplets add another layer of texture and light.

This is where a lot of my inspiration comes from.

Nature has already created some of the most beautiful colour combinations, patterns and textures we could ever bring into an interior.

Sometimes, you just have to slow down long enough to notice them. 🌱

🌿 What can a designer learn from a walk outside?

Sometimes, inspiration isn't found in a showroom, a Pinterest board or a catalogue.

Sometimes, it's just taking a leisurely stroll in your very own backyard.

The shape of a leaf.
The texture of bark.
The way light moves through foliage.
The contrast between something soft and something weathered.
The colours that somehow just work together in nature.

These are the details that inspire me when I think about biophilic design.

Biophilic design isn't simply about adding a few plants to a room. It's about creating spaces that help us feel connected to the natural world; through texture, colour, light, materials, patterns and living elements.

And that's one of the things I love most about interior design.

Nature has already done the designing for us. We just have to pay attention. 🌱

For as long as I can remember, I've believed that homes should be more than aesthetically pleasing. They should restore us, tell our story, and support the way we live each and every day.

That's what inspired me to create Ulysses Interiors. ✨

My passion is designing thoughtful, nature-inspired interiors that feel personal, timeless, and connected to the people who call them home.
