Today I finished the last of the cards from the Virtual Card Retreat. I thoroughly enjoyed the retreat. It gave me the chance to try things I normally wouldn’t attempt, reminded me of some techniques I haven’t used in a while, taught me some new techniques and showed me that dies and stamps can be used in different ways than what they are specifically designed for.

A few more cards from the virtual card retreat today. These cards all used Wink of Stella and my craft room is sparkling as well as the cards.

For those of you who don’t know Wink of Stella, it is a shimmering glitter brush pen. It can be used to add shimmer to your projects. It can also be used for colouring as well.

Happy World Card Making Day!!

Hope you got to spend some time today doing something crafty.

I managed to spend some time this afternoon making a few of the cards that were part of today’s virtual card making retreat. I loved learning how to make my own blue plaid paper, a card that is designed for lots of people to sign and some fun ways of using a white gel pen in card making.

Today was the first day of the virtual card retreat. Although I was unable to watch all of it (I am still painting cladding for our house) I did get to watch and make 2 projects live and the other 2 I watched the replay (4 to catch up on at some point). I have loved all the projects so far and have learnt some new techniques and different ways to do things. Can’t wait for tomorrow.

I love it when a big brown box arrives in the mail. This one is special as it contains everything for the Virtual Card Retreat that is on Friday and Saturday (hoping I will get to it if I am not working at building our house. There are always replays to watch) The kit includes a stamp and die bundle, an exclusive stamp set, two-tone cardstock, exclusive DSP, gold foil, white card, 2 sheets of pop out pieces, envelopes and some embellishments. I love that they have a cutting guide on the back of the DSP and two-tone cardstock. You also get access to an exclusive page where the event and prep videos will be screened. The card retreat is available until sold out. Off to tidy my craft room so I can start on the prep work.

Recently our daughter got engaged. This is the engagement card I made for her and her fiancé. The hearts are made in her favourite colour and she loves soft pastel shades.
