Have you ever felt like the design world acts like a test, and youâre always on the back foot?
New rules. New trends. An annoying, persistent pressure to get it right â or at least, not embarrass yourself or âwasteâ money?
And underneath all of it? The fear that if you donât follow the formula, your home wonât be⌠enough. Or WORTH the money it took to get it thereâŚ
Hereâs the thing though:
Your home is where your kids spill things. Where you cry in the kitchen. Where you figure things out at 11pm and leave a half-drunk tea on the bench. Or in the microwave⌠15 times over.
Itâs not a showroom. Itâs not a portfolio piece. Itâs not a test.
Itâs just yours. đЎ
The most beautiful homes Iâve ever been in werenât the ones that followed all the rules. They were the ones that felt like the people living IN them â a little layered, a little imperfect, completely themselves. One big, fat enveloping hug of that personâs life story and energy.
Thatâs where my heart is at and thatâs the outcome I hope to inspire you around here: achieving a perfectly YOU, alive, lived-in home.
đđť Save this if it resonated â we all need the reminder sometimes. Or, if you know someone in the thick of a reno, drowning in decisions and everyone elseâs opinions? Send it to her. Remind her to come back to herself when it all gets a bit loud out there.
Thatâs always the way home.
