And a dream that's becoming harder to ignore.

What if? ❤️

2014 → 2025
Don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't.
There will always be people who doubt you, question you, laugh at your dreams, or tell you to stay in your lane.

DON'T LISTEN!

The little girl sketching in 2014 had no idea where a pencil and a paint brush would take her. She just kept showing up, kept practising, kept learning and kept believing.

Eleven years later, those same hands are creating large-scale murals, freehand, Australia wide, that tell stories, bring communities together and leave something meaningful behind.

And the best part?

I'm only just getting started. ❤️

Desire To Sketch Professional Development & Child Safety Update!

Over the last few weeks, I've been spending some time behind the scenes focusing on something that is incredibly important to me and my business - continuing to strengthen my knowledge and understanding of child safety.

I'm proud to have recently completed:

✅ Foundations of Child Safety Training
✅ Protecting Children – Mandatory Reporting and Other Obligations for Early Childhood

As many of you know, I teach and mentor children every week and have the privilege of watching them grow not only as artists, but also in confidence, resilience and self-belief.

While these qualifications are not currently mandatory for my business, art classesand mentoring, I believe that when you work closely with children, ongoing learning, professional development and child safety training should always be a priority.

For me, it's not about meeting a minimum requirement. It's about continually improving the knowledge, skills and safeguards I can provide to the children and families who place their trust in me. Creating a safe, supportive and positive environment has always been one of my highest priorities and these courses have strengthened my understanding of child safety, recognising concerns, mandatory reporting obligations and child-safe practices.

These qualifications sit alongside my Working With Children Check, Police Check, Creative Arts Coach Certification, years of working in Aged Care, years of teaching experience and the child-safe practices already in place within my studio.

Most importantly, they reflect my commitment to creating an environment where children feel safe, supported, respected and encouraged to be themselves.

This is only the beginning.
Over the coming months, I'll be continuing my professional development by completing additional training.
I'll also be reviewing and updating policies, procedures and documentation where appropriate to ensure Desire To Sketch continues to grow in a way that reflects the highest standards of care, professionalism and child safety.
The trust families place in me is something I never take lightly and I believe there is always room to learn, improve and do better.

Thank you to all the families who continue to support Desire To Sketch allowing us to be part of your child's creative journey. ❤️

Together, we've helped restore sight to 17 people. ❤️That is something I never imagined I'd be able to say when I first sat down at a table with a pencil, a piece of paper and a dream.

People often see the artwork, but they don't always see what happens behind the scenes.

When I first started Desire To Sketch, I made a promise that a percentage of every order would go towards breast cancer research in memory of my Nan, or towards fundraisers and causes that touched my heart.

Since then, what started as a small gesture has quietly grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Over the years, Desire To Sketch and our incredible community have contributed approximately:

❤️ $7,000+ towards breast cancer research

👀 $1,780+ to the Fred Hollows Foundation — helping restore sight to 17 people

🌏 $1,500+ to Médecins Sans Frontières Australia

💜 Around $20,000 raised for domestic and family violence organisations

🐣 $2,000 raised for the Good Friday Appeals

🐨 $1,500 raised for injured koalas affected by the bushfires

🐾 $1,480 raised for Million Paws Walk.

And that's not including the countless donated artworks, vouchers, raffle prizes, fundraising events, classes and community causes we've supported over the years through Desire To Sketch.

I don't share this for recognition.

I share it because every sketch commissioned, every class attended, every mural painted, every product purchased and every person who has supported Desire To Sketch has been part of this.

You've helped families.
You've helped communities.
You've helped animals.
You've helped people access medical care.
And together, we've also helped restore sight to 17 people.

For a little art business that started with a pencil and a dream, that's pretty incredible.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️

Soo proud of my little miss and all of the drawings she has done during art classes this week! ❤️
