400 years of history. 30 years of restoration. One extraordinary Croatian palace. 🇭🇷✨
Perched above Dubrovnik’s Old Town lies Palace Natali — a 16th-century aristocratic residence with a fascinating past.
Once home to the noble Natali family, including Đivo Natali, who played a role in resisting Napoleon’s occupation of Dubrovnik in 1813, the palace witnessed centuries of political intrigue, prosperity and decline.
Eventually abandoned to time, its magnificent stonework deteriorated and its Renaissance gardens became overgrown.
What followed was an extraordinary 30-year labour of love commencing in the late 1980s & only recently completed.
A painstaking restoration overseen by dedicated conservationists saw historic stonework revived, architectural details meticulously recreated, forgotten garden features reconstructed and the Renaissance gardens brought back to life — all while preserving the character and authenticity of this remarkable estate.
Today, Palace Natali has been reborn as an intimate luxury boutique hotel, where centuries-old craftsmanship meets understated contemporary elegance.
For me, an absolute oasis & sanctuary away from the maddening crowds of the Old Town. A true escape. 🫶🌟
