Project Vista sits nestled on the Allebudgera Creek in Palm Beach. The colour palette draws from the natural surroundings, creating a home that will grounding and inviting. Construction will be starting next month and I cannot wait to see the project come to life.

Brass has quietly moved well beyond tapware, in the best possible way. I am seeing it on benchtops, joinery trim, furniture, and shelf detailing, and it brings a warmth that steel and iron do not. Brass sits comfortably next to stone, timber, and textured fabrics without pulling focus and I believe it is one of the most versatile metals to work with right now.

Red is one of the most avoided colours in residential interiors, and one of the most effective when it is used well. The theory is simple: one unexpected red piece in a room pulls the whole space together in a way that is difficult to explain until you see it.

It works because red advances visually. It draws the eye and gives a room a point of focus without needing to be the dominant colour. A red ceramic vase, a cushion, a single chair. It does not need to be a feature wall to do the job.

We no longer default to filling the ceiling with downlights, and I am here for it. As an avid "big lights" hater, one of the most important elements of design is your lighting. Layered lighting creates mood, a sense of warmth and comfort, and it's a decision that needs to be made early if you want to get it right. If lighting hasn't been discussed with your designer yet, it is worth raising before you go to site.
