Tried something a bit different and challenged myself with the idea of pinning weevils straight onto driftwood using their tarsal claws to actually grip in place. This was a tough one with limited space to work with and having to adapt and apply pressure in different ways with the pins to lay across their tarsus instead of being able to simply pin them in place. Don't think I'll try this particular method again any time soon but it was a fun experiment.

Pretty cool feature you likely didn’t know… our scorpion domes reflect under UV 😍

These domes are a personal favourite of ours and so many of you guys seem to love them too! It’s such an interesting process pinning these guys in a defensive stance to make them look as life-like as possible. With extended chelicerae, open pincers and a raised stinger, you’re able to truly appreciate all details of these specimens.

Brahmaea moth's are seriously so fascinating.
This particular brahmaea is a Hearseyi Owl Moth (scientific name: Brahmaea hearseyi). Its markings are incredible 😍

We have a new dome available on our store and there's a lot going on in this one!
It features a deer skull on a piece of driftwood, a Papilio Ulysses sat atop the skull with it's front legs extended out, a Maackii Maackii with extended proboscis on the upper jaw and three Turquoise Weevils with each one doing their own thing; one sitting inside an eye socket, one about to climb up onto the driftwood and a third with open elytra and spread wings, ready to take flight.

🦂New frames, domes and globes🦂

Hey everyone, we've recently put some new pieces up on our site. We've added a scorpion and a couple of Magpie skulls to our frame collection and we currently have two different subspecies of Heterometrus scorpions available in domes. On top of that one of our personal favourite specimens, a Brahmaea Hearseyi moth in a globe 👀
