The Brief - Create an office space and a retreat corner in the spare room.

Part 1 of the office transformation was the addition of shelves styled with curated books, stone ceramics and textural accents. Keeping the palette cohesive with the rest of the house, we added some wooden shelves supports to elevate the look of the plain floating shelves.

Hi, It’s Kristel here from IZKO Styling. I would like to officially welcome you and thank you for following my journey. I have always had a passion for interior styling from a young age and throughout the years, i have enjoyed designing, styling and building properties with my better half, Oli.

“Home is where the heart is”, so I believe that creating a space that is inviting, warm, beautiful and chic all at the same time is what makes the house a Home. It’s been a labour of love (some sweat and tears of course !) transforming our new home into a chic luxe sanctuary over the last months and it’s an ongoing project that I look forward to share with you over time, whilst working with some amazing clients and helping them turn their space into a dream haven.

I hope you find great inspiration through our work as we continue to share our transformations and styling ideas through Our Signature Styling touch.

Styling should be approached with balance, symmetry, spatial relationship and the overall design concept in mind.

Introduce symmetry or asymmetry using statement pieces, adding height and depth.
Incorporate natural elements to soften the space and add texture.
Mix and match colours ensure the styling ties back to the home’s broader palette and materials to create that cohesive transition from the hallway to the rest of the home.

For me, first impression is everything - if you have a hallway, think of it as a space that sets the tone for the entire home.
A statement mirror, a curated console or layered textures, hallway styling is all about blending function with personality.

Art sets the tone, evokes an emotion and anchors the overall aesthetic of a space.

The abstract textures pattern canvas framed with Tasmanian oak adds an extra layer of styling whilst keeping with the neutral colour theme and natural elements design concept for this room. The overall serene and calming ambiance makes it one of my favourite pockets of this home.
