It's the start point, stop point, grout line, edge detail, niche location, tap position and how it meets every other finish around it.

I know. Quite rude of it to be this needy.

But this is the reality of beautiful details, and you're allowed to ask about every one of them.

The cupboard door in our powder room you're not meant to notice. 🚪

The selection isn't the decision. The real decision is how that selection gets built, fixed, finished and
resolved on site.

This is where so many dream details quietly shift.

Not because anyone's doing anything wrong.

The detail just wasn't clarified early enough.

Sharing a little bit of my experience as a woman on construction sites, and what I’ve come to realise along the way… 🙈

I often say construction sites feel like a playground to me.

But I know for a lot of women, they can feel daunting, intimidating and like everyone is speaking a language you were never taught.

That’s what I want to help change.

My four year old changed the entire direction of this powder room....

I originally wanted it dark and moody. Then she saw the design and said, “Mummy, please don’t make it dark. I’ll get scared.”

So the whole room softened.

The curved wall, the limewash, the statement stone… It became less moody cave and more calm day spa.

But that ceiling was not a last minute pretty idea.

To make stainless steel work overhead, the lighting, reflections, cladding and fixing details all had to be thought through before it got built.

Because the boldest details usually need the calmest planning.

And I do still love my original dark design. Maybe that one is for the next project???

So grateful that Zoei is becoming part of more than just our family home.

I created her with so much love, sweat, stress, site decisions and probably too many “are we sure?” moments.

So seeing her now become a space for other local Australian brands & creatives feels incredibly special. Including
