hard at work tonight finishing off the live wedding painting from last weekend. I paint in oils, on linen canvas, therefore things take awhile to dry!
The product you see at the wedding is only 3/4 finished. I spend at least another 5 hours on it in my studio!

What a surprise Mildura was! A beautiful wedding and live wedding painting, great vibe in town and beautiful scenery.

Self Portrait - What Lies Beneath

There's a fair bit of s**t lying behind my smile at the moment. Underneath this portrait of me is a journal of my current thoughts. Most of them best kept hidden. I chose to paint myself in my wetsuit at the beach because the beach is a place that brings me happiness. And surfing has allowed me to paddle out and sit by myself. I might not catch heaps of waves, I call it swimming with a board, but it is peaceful.

I'm going to enter Portrait Artist of the Year... that's if I'm not too late.

I have found its quite therapeutic to paint a smiling picture of yourself. There still a bit to go, but trying to stick to the 4 hour time limit. Im at 3 hours so I'll put in one more hour before I finish my application.

New Day Over Goolwa Beach - my new painting. Because there's always a new day and they are always stunning on my home beach. The perfect way to start the day off in a positive head space. A stunning sunrise on canvas, just in case you can't make it down or are as lucky as me to enjoy this most days.
