This was something special. The client loved his floor the way it was, but it wasn’t practical. He loved the sheen level, the colour, even the stains. So we took off the high points, filled the big gaps, and kept the colour using a mixture of hardwax oil products.

This was a Blackbutt floor we finished last week. We used our commercial strength waterbased system. This job had a previous waterbased coat but like everything there is quality products and less durable. I love our waterbased because I’ve been able to test it at my house. We have two young boys, a boxer and it stands up to the test. While the two pack costs more down the track it works in your favour.

Had to get this floor to match the existing pine. Even though we had discussed that it would be a lighter colour I just couldn’t resist helping it along. Once I poured out the coating though I did wonder if trying for perfection had shot me in the foot. But apparently my 20 years experience can come in handy as we got a pretty good match.

Last couple of days for the competition. Quickly jump across and give us a 5 star review on Google! Cleaning kit worth $100.00 to be won. We’ll announce the winner on Monday night!!!
This floor here we finished over 8 years ago. It’s been a rental for that 8 years and besides the dents that will happen with pine, and one room where they have damaged the stain, it’s well and truely held up. I was only back as it’s up for sale and we are going to put on a fresh coat freshen it up.
