Let’s talk Gourds … I’ve had a lot of interest and questions since our little display of them we had at Nannup Flower and Garden Festival on our stall ..
they are the most amazing things to grow if you have the space .
It is a commitment .. the space , the time to grow and then to process and dry .. and if I’m honest can be an obsession 😅
But here’s some under the shelter next to our chook house in the garden drying so you can see 🪴
As you know or may not know .. I grow the things I sell as seeds I’m not just a seed seller 😉

Back with a bump this morning. Up at Armadale Hospital for an 8am appointment… lovely to see the flower beds in the main area full of life .. the gardeners do a fantastic job trying to make it look good .
The seeds I scattered are doing well.. a bit damp this morning so the everlastings and Californian poppies were still closed .. but the cosmos and stattice are out ..
I may have planted a few sunflower 🌻 seeds 😉

I love this .. ditch boring supermarket veg and grow a colourful heirloom alternative .. that’s the beauty of heirloom seeds and seedings .. you can grow and eat your usual staples but eat the rainbow instead .. what would you substitute your staple veg with ?
I’m substituting green beans this spring with Cherokee wax yellow bush beans and Royal burgundy bush beans 🪴

Day 10 done and dusted at the Nannup Flower & Garden Festival

4 workshops/talks done ✅
10 days of trading in the market square
Hundreds of fantastic seedy chats
The no dig garden 🪴 built and nearly dismantled
Thank you Nannup we can’t wait to be back next year for your 30th celebrations.

Thank you all that came and chatted seedy , want to know more about how to grow and save seeds .. and more importantly grow food ! The town was buzzing .. the workshops and talks packed .. so much knowledge shared.
