This week we received a beautiful new bundle of cards from Wally Paper Co, hand delivered by Flemington local Beck.

Sweet, colourful, slightly cheeky and very relatable 💌
We’ve got Mother’s Day covered, plus cards for birthdays, celebrations and all the other bits of life too.

… and join us for a night of creative fun this Thursday 6.30-8.30pm.

Why? Cause it turns out cutting up nice bits of fabric scraps and carefully tucking them together is… weirdly satisfying. Like a wellbeing retreat for tired brains!

It’s called Kinusaiga. Japanese no-sew fabric art. It’s easy and lots of fun.

It’s a small group, adult workshop - no skills needed!

What. A. Week.
An absolutely epic, colour-soaked, sold-out run of workshops with what might just be some of Melbourne’s most creative kids.

From tiny doll furniture and fluffy new friends to full-blown houses and mini cities… this week had range.

We wrapped it all up with a beautifully slow, joy-filled paper play session — kids and their favourite grown-ups making side by side (the sweetest).

Thank you to everyone who came, created, experimented and leaned into the mess and magic. The most special way to celebrate Whimsy Disco’s new home 💛

We’re now busy building out term classes — for toddlers, preschoolers, after schoolers, teens and adults — plus more info on parties and private events.

This week at Whimsy Disco, it was all about creating for our favourite characters.

Outfits, accessories, tiny furniture, little spaces — all designed for the toys that came along for the ride (and the stories that came with them).

There were beaded necklaces for bears, shoebox studios, beds, shops, and very specific design briefs like “she needs somewhere to relax” or “this one owns a candy store.”

No templates. No one way.
Just ideas, tested and reworked until they felt right.

And watching kids think so deeply about the worlds their toys live in? That’s the magic.

We opened the doors and the room filled with ideas.

Cutting, layering, experimenting, rethinking…
watching kids back themselves and create something completely their own.

For the little ones — it’s freedom to explore, play and proudly say “I made this.”
For the bigger kids — it’s space to experiment, take creative risks, and make things that actually feel cool.

No pressure to get it “right”.
Just space to try, play, and make.

And the results?
Thoughtful, bold, a little unexpected — and entirely them.

This is Whimsy Disco.
Creative confidence over perfect outcomes. Always.
