Abit of sun this afternoon so I got busy sanded and glazed my pottery getting prepared for a reduction firing. Using glazes made from scratch to handle the Cone 10 1300 c.
Just got to hope for a good day this week 🤞

I went to Bairnsdale Visitors Centre which is now to be found at the Council offices.
Pleasantly surprised at how nice the space is for the centre.
There is new stock on the shelves which are located by the window and it looks lovely.
Please go check out for yourselves.

Gorgeous day to go to Orbost. Pleased to say that I have cleaned up and stocked at the Orbost Indoor market. With help from my friend Karen McDonald we reorganised the shelves.
Thanks Jill Crouch and her team looking after us ❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday my two kilns PuffnStuff and Kamel were firing with the weather being unpredictable.
Unfortunately one kiln Kamel did not actually reach cone 8 at the bottom shelves . Cones were down at the peep hole so a bit
disappointed but this is the life of a potter.
So a refire is in the future of about 10 pieces.
My experiments with a new glaze and different ideas were a hit and miss. Again this is the life of a potter. This is how we grow and learn .
So what has come through the firing and what can you expect to find in Slipway Boatshed and the Lake's Entrance Visitor centre next week.
My Slipway cream cups , koalas and pelican my trusted and much loved pottery. 😁

Today I enjoyed being involved in the Ice works artist market.
The conversation over a cuppa made by Leanne. The smell and taste of Anli cookies ,and the cakes made by Josephine and Helen. Surrounded by artists creating quietly.
Sharing what we know and how it's made in such a variety of mediums. Was such a fun day.
Having friends and visitors share in the atmosphere that Gary and Andrea have created. Many thanks 🙏
