🐝 Valley Gold Honey Update 🍯
It’s been a while since we’ve posted—but wow, what a ride it’s been!
Valley Gold Honey started with one humble hive back in 2015, a Christmas gift for Tony that sparked a passion he thought lost after his father (also a bee keeper) passed away. Our first extractor was a two-frame hand-cranked beast—better than any gym workout! From there, we upgraded to a nine-frame extractor, and now, we’re preparing to bring home a 48-frame extraction plant. That’s right—48 frames! We’ve grown to over 200 hives, a truck we’re quickly outgrowing, and a decade of producing some truly amazing honey.
🐝 Challenges & Community
The threat of varroa mite is real, but we’re ready. We’ve built knowledge, a strong local network, and a commitment to keeping our bees healthy and thriving.
🌟 Beyond the Hive
Valley Gold Honey has opened doors we never imagined—from joining the board of the Gympie Chamber of Commerce, to winning awards, and even gifting honey to clients from my day job. If you’re attending the Gympie Chamber of Commerce Inc Business Awards this year, keep an eye out—you might just receive a sweet sample from this season’s harvest!
💛 Gratitude
We still work full-time jobs, and none of this would be possible without the incredible support of our friends and community. From borrowed trucks and babysitting to painting boxes and helping with renovations—thank you. Every jar sold, every kind word, every helping hand has meant the world.
Owning a small business is a wild ride, but it’s one we’re so proud to be on. Thanks for being part of our journey. Here’s to the next chapter—sticky fingers and all!
