Nordic Designs Nordic Designs is all about bringing Scandinavian flair to you. We import, wholesale and sell online focusing on Christmas decorations, gifts & homewares.

Nordic Designs was created in 2004 by Swedish born Cecilia Holden. The focus was to wholesale beautiful Scandinavian finds to the Australian gift and homeware stores. In 2006 we complemented the business by opening our own retail store in Wonthaggi, Victoria and added on with an online store in 2008. Since then many things have changed, most of all the market place and the way customers shop. In 2013 we therefore decided to close the retail store and focus on the original idea of wholesale, but also to keep operating online with a fresh, new online site. Nordic Designs chooses carefully what brands to offer. Quality is absolute key in from the products we supply as well as the service we receive and offer in return. The relationship with our suppliers and the relationship with our customers are very important. Nordic Designs supply to boutiques and interior designers in Australia as well as New Zealand. Nordic Designs aim is to bring Scandinavian flair to you, by offering concepts and brands at affordable prices. Cecilia Holden, Director & Founder

About Cecilia:
I came to Australia in 2002 with my husband and daughter. I have two lovely step-daughters, one of them is Sarah, who will also look after this page. The decision to start Nordic Designs derives from my passion of beautiful things and most importantly, to keep a connection to my home country Sweden. Being so I cannot draw or create anything(!) I found it best to search for other peoples creations and wholesale/retail. My background and formal education is Marketing and Economics. Before I ended up "down under" I worked for various companies in Sweden with marketing. I love Australia, the people, variety of cultures and most of all the weather!

I got a phone call today from a customer who wanted to purchase from my website. Because I had not posted for a long time she thought it was best to call me to see that I was still in business. Thank you for that reminder Kellie 😀We ARE still in business but this will be the last season of Nordic Designs. After 19 years of retail, having had bricks and mortar shops and in the later years, only online shop plus wholesale, we have decided it is time to move on. We will keep the online shop open until stock is sold out. If you have a favourite you like to purchase now is the time.

The Swedish tradition of lighting a candle for 1st of Advent goes back in history. Apart from the religious aspect, many Swedes take the opportunity to create a cosy indoor environment, making the dark winter nights enjoyable.

The traditional "adventljustake" takes four candles, one at a time to be lit every Sunday leading into Christmas. We have some great options to create your own, unique Advent.

Many of our decorations make excellent gifts that will be cherished for generations.

We will be there! Hope to see you😀

As well as the entertainment, we have a great selection of stallholders with food, homewares and gifts. Please note that a few stalls are cash-only.

For everyone's comfort, we have reduced the number of stalls in the main hall and will be creating a community hub on the northern terrace - with more stalls, covered seating areas and even an ice cream van!

The event runs for 5 hours and we recommend planning your visit - especially if you want to avoid the crowds. Although there is limited parking next to the venue itself, there are other options such as parking on the eastern side of Commonwealth Avenue and using the connecting pedestrian tunnel through to Albert Hall.
