’Tis the season to consider what you’d like to make room for at home in the months ahead…

The warmer days are here, the kids are heading back to school, and before we know it, summer, visitors, shared meals and Christmas gatherings will be upon us.

Preparing for the gathering season starts with making room.

Maybe it’s getting the spare room ready, clearing the dining table, or sorting the pantry, entry or living room before the end-of-year rush.

Or perhaps it’s simply letting go of what’s taking up space, so there’s more room for the people and moments that matter.

Because preparing home for the gathering season isn’t about making it perfect.
It’s about helping it support what’s coming — the people, the moments and the memories.

Had the most amazing companion on my walk yesterday morning… 🙂

A stingray, gliding through the shallows in water barely deeper than my ankles.

For a few minutes, we travelled along beside each other in companionable silence.

Just one of those unexpected little moments that makes your day. 🤍

Recently I had the privilege of helping a client with her home office.

As a mum returning to study, my client needed the space to support increased use while continuing to accommodate the quiet-time space already within the room.

This project wasn’t about starting again. It was about retaining what was important, refining what was already there and making thoughtful adjustments to better support how the space needed to function.

In this case, improving function began with reducing the length of the desk, introducing drawer storage so everyday items could sit within easy reach, and reducing excess on the desktop itself. The aim was to create a more focused study area shaped around how my client prefers to work.

The project began with a Home Review & Action Plan, followed by additional support through concept design, a curated shopping list with clickable links and scaled drawings to help visualise the proposed changes.

I’m looking forward to seeing it come together. 🤍

I’ve received my certificate for completing the Professional Organiser Course (Decluttering) through the Australian College of Environmental Studies.

It’s been a valuable addition to the design side of Banksia Bay Living — strengthening the practical, people-first approach I bring to helping homes function better.

Making space for everyday life. 🤍

Homes change because life changes.

For this project, the household was welcoming in two additional family members and becoming a multigenerational home.

Naturally, the kitchen needed to absorb more — more food, more belongings, different routines and the everyday needs of a larger household.

The family did not need a picture-perfect pantry or a kitchen full of matching containers, but rather one that supported the movements, routines and lives of a larger family.

They needed their existing space to work better for them.

So together, we worked through the kitchen and pantry, decluttering what was no longer needed, bringing like items together, considering where and how things were used and making better use of the available storage.

No complete storage overhaul.

No replacing everything with matching containers.

Just thoughtful decisions, practical groupings and clearer homes for the things this family actually uses.

The result?

More space.

Better visibility.

Easier access.

Less searching.

And a kitchen better able to support the family now sharing it.

Because good organising isn’t really about how a cupboard looks when the doors are open.

It’s about how well the space supports everyday life as it changes.

Not perfect. Just working better. 🤍

And then there’s RESTORE. 🤍

Sometimes, what a home needs doesn’t sit neatly within one of our other services.

It may need organising — but also a rethink of how the space is being used.

It may need a change in layout — but also thoughtful editing of what stays, what goes, and where things belong.

It may need warmth and personality — but first, it needs to function better for the people living there.

That’s where RESTORE comes in.

Over the past few months, the work I do has continued to grow and become clearer — shaped by the homes I’ve worked in, the people I’ve worked alongside, and further training and professional development.

And with that has come a clearer way of describing how I can help.

ORGANISE | STYLE | DESIGN

Three service streams, each supporting a different part of everyday life at home.

ORGANISE — helping homes regain order through professional organising and practical systems that make everyday life easier.

STYLE — helping homes reflect the people who live within them, adding warmth, atmosphere and personality while working thoughtfully with what is already there.
