Why Dark Timber Is Making a Comeback 🤎
After years of light oak dominating our interiors, we're seeing a return to richer timber tones like walnut.
They bring warmth, depth and character to a space and pair beautifully with natural materials like stone, linen, wool and travertine.
I don't think dark timber is replacing oak. Instead, we're seeing more contrast and a mix of timber tones, creating homes that feel warmer, richer and more personal.

One of the greatest compliments a client can give me is coming back for a second project.

Being trusted to transform not only a client's first home, but the next one too, is something I'll never take for granted. Every home tells a different story, and it's such a privilege to help create spaces that feel personal, welcoming and uniquely theirs.

Thank you for your continued trust and for your beautiful words, Minnie. It has been a pleasure to be part of both of your homes. 🤍

Some transformations are about more than just how a home looks.
This Williamstown family home renovation was about creating spaces that worked better for everyday family life while bringing warmth, functionality and timeless design into every room. Looking back at where we started makes the finished result even more special. 🤍

Not every home has to fit into one design style.
Modern Organic is loved for its ability to blend natural materials, warm textures and a relaxed aesthetic into homes that feel both beautiful and easy to live in. It's less about following trends and more about creating a home that feels right for you.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive is when a client tells me the process felt easy.

Designing a home involves so many moving parts, from sourcing furniture and managing suppliers to coordinating deliveries and adding those final styling touches.
My goal is to take that weight off my clients' shoulders, so they can enjoy watching their home come together without the stress.

Receiving feedback like this reminds me why I love what I do. Thank you for trusting me with your home, Karen. It was an absolute pleasure to bring it to life. 🤍

Project Spotlight | Williamstown 🤍

Every renovation has the opportunity to completely change the way a family lives. For this Williamstown home, our focus was creating spaces that felt lighter, more functional and beautifully connected, while retaining the warmth and character that makes a house feel like home.

Move over beige... soft blue is having a moment.
Soft blue is appearing everywhere from upholstery and artwork to cabinetry and accessories.
It works beautifully with walnut timber, natural stone, linen and aged brass.
Unlike stronger blues, these softer tones feel timeless and easy to live with.
They add colour without overwhelming a space.
Perfect for creating a fresh, layered and sophisticated interior.

One thing I've learnt after designing so many homes is that it's the details people remember most.

The carefully considered finishes.
The perfect balance of colour and texture.
The little styling moments that make a home feel complete.
These are often the things that quietly bring everything together.

Thank you for your incredibly kind words, Jack and Lee.

A little look at what I’m working on this week…
Plans, measurements, fabrics, rugs, timber finishes and plenty of samples spread across the table.
This is one of my favourite parts of the design process, bringing all the individual elements together and making sure the colours, textures, proportions and finishes work beautifully as a whole.
There are a lot of decisions behind a finished room, but when they’re all considered together, that’s when a home really starts to take shape.
Can’t wait to see this one come together. 🤎

One of the most rewarding moments is seeing months of planning become reality. For this Hampton East home, we carefully curated every furniture and styling piece to create a space that felt welcoming, personal and completely move-in ready. Watching it all come together is a reminder that great design is never about a single item, it's about how every piece works together.
