Impact of the Middle East war.
Beyond the devastating human impact, the war is also creating significant economic pressure globally, including price surges, disruption to supply chains, and a general sense of uncertainty across various industries.
At Fired Up Kilns, we want to reassure our customers that, despite the volatility, our retail prices will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future. We are committed to absorbing any intermittent price increases, ensuring that our customers are not affected by sudden cost hikes.
Unfortunately, freight companies, especially those relying heavily on diesel fuel, have been severely impacted. As a result, freight costs have increased and some carriers have introduced a fuel surcharge to cover rising expenses.
To help reduce fuel usage and out-of-pocket costs, you may wish to consider coordinating orders with friends, a local pottery club, or a Facebook group. By pooling orders, you can share freight costs, and we would be happy to assist in facilitating such arrangements wherever possible.
There may be some supply chain disruptions over the coming months. For example, one of our kiln furniture suppliers has temporarily ceased manufacturing because they are unable to access sufficient gas to operate their kilns!
Despite these challenges, we have multiple suppliers around the world, so we do not anticipate major supply chain disruptions. We ask for your understanding and patience as we navigate these challenging times together.
