Big progress at Richmond, and a huge milestone for one of our own.

All elevations are packed and straightened, with lintels and shelf angles going in ahead of the final wall framing and sarking inspection and sign-off. We’re aiming to start Hebel next week and will share the installation as it progresses.

Working with the engineer, we’ve developed a bolt-on box section system that reduces internal damage and saves repair work and cost later. Experience and planning make a difference.

Thanks to CSP Architectural in Melbourne for supplying the top hats, with Hebel and associated materials to follow, and Martin at Steeltron for fabricating our lintels and steelwork.

Behind every site is a full team: our crews across all jobs, Sarah coordinating supplies and making the unseen calls and follow-ups, and everyone putting in the effort to keep things moving. Like our recent choreography video—a bit of fun, but a fair reflection of how well this team works together.

The biggest news this week: Varinder has been granted permanent residency!

Reliable, hardworking and a valued part of Forever Bright, he’s building a future we’re proud to support. A commercial building company in Melbourne’s southeast helped me do the same when I arrived in Australia. I’m grateful to them and proud to now return the favour.

You’d think working in construction, one of the simplest rules would be understood:

Water needs somewhere to go.

But time and time again, we come across installs like this.

This canopy has been installed basically level, with little to no effective fall away from the building. The result? Water pools and sits on top instead of draining away.

It might not leak today. It might not leak tomorrow. But continually holding water is going to take its toll over time — on sealants, joints, coatings and the overall system.

And even before it fails, you start seeing exactly what’s happening here: staining and discolouration as dust, dirt and sediment settle in the standing water.

The frustrating part is that when this was first installed, it probably looked fantastic.

A short time later? Not so much.

Water management doesn’t need to be complicated. Give it adequate fall, give it somewhere to drain, and you can prevent a lot of unnecessary headaches down the track.

Sometimes the simplest details make the biggest difference.

From the quote to the last screw — this is why I love what we do.

The new home of Coates Hire and our first project with Corplex.

Over 400m² of HVG-supplied solid aluminium, along with 95 lengths of HVG Zinto batten, went into getting this one across the line.

There’s been plenty of blood, sweat and tears, especially battling the weather over the past week, but standing back and looking at the finished job makes every bit of it worthwhile.

The boys have been absolutely on point. Hands down, I couldn’t be prouder of the team and the quality they’ve delivered.

A great first project with Corplex. The boys have looked after us from day one on site, and we’re looking forward to hopefully doing plenty more together.

From the quote to the last screw. Super proud of this one.

Quick check-in from our Richmond rectification project this morning.

The superintendent was on site checking progress for Body Corporate, and we’ve now completed our first week trialling VisiBuild.

Feedback from the boys has been unreal — simple, easy to use and, most importantly, it gives us a live record of the job from start to finish.

I’m actually back on the tools myself this week on another project across the city, but I can still follow what’s happening here throughout the day and review everything in the evening.

On rectification work like this, that record is invaluable. Every stage is documented for our ITPs, giving both the builder and client a clear record that the works are being completed to the specified details.

Big thanks again to the VisiBuild team for getting us onboarded and helping us hit the ground running.

And a big mention to Yad. He’s been with me for five years. At the start it was literally me and him on the tools together. Now Forever Bright can have four sites running across Melbourne at the same time.

That only happens because the experience and standards get passed down through the team.

I’m only as good as the lads in the team, and they’re doing a cracking job.

Great work, lads. Plenty more to come from Richmond.

20 Niton Drive, Truganina — round two.

No overlayed bu****it music. No fancy whistles and bells. Just pure, raw construction — grinders, saws, noise and everything that comes with it.

We’re finally cutting the ZINTEL battens from HVG.

They’ve taken their time getting to us, but a big mention has to go to the team at HVG. A lot of the delays were outside their control, including issues with transit, but they’ve gone above and beyond to get these battens back into our possession and get us moving again. Much appreciated.

We’ve been waiting with bated breath — a bit like Lachie Neale heading into the tribunal tonight. 😂

To be fair, I hope he gets through to the Grand Final because he’s been unbelievable all year… but it was definitely a sucker punch!

Anyway — ZINTEL battens are here, we’re chopping them up, and the game plan is locked in for next week.

Friday’s a public holiday. At Forever Bright, if the boys want the extra work, the option is there. If they want the long weekend, enjoy it. Completely their call.

I want the boys to have the same enthusiasm walking onto the job as they have walking out at the end of the day. If the team isn’t happy, I’m not happy. We’ve got boys who’ve been with us a long time, and I reckon that says plenty.

After a couple of quieter months, we’ve had a bloody good week.

Christmas is coming fast. The work is locking in. The momentum is building.

If you’re not spiralling up, you’re spiralling down.

Great project to be invited onto and a great opportunity to showcase the façade remediation side of Forever Bright.

This façade has actually failed twice previously, so getting the remediation right this time is critical. When you’re dealing with façade cladding—particularly in a high-rise environment—there’s simply no room for shortcuts.

We’ve now got the right team on the ground to get this building rectified properly.

We’ll be installing a new 75mm Hebel PowerPanel system, with our partners at CSP Architectural supplying the project. A big thanks to the CSP team for helping us pull everything together at short notice.

We’ll take you through the remediation process as we build this one back up, with the push on towards the AFL Grand Final.

Exciting times at Forever Bright.

We’ve recently engaged with our new partners at Premier Stone here in Melbourne’s South East, exploring the Cosentino range and their concealed-fix aluminium rail systems.

Having previously worked with similar concealed-fix systems across other cementitious cladding ranges, this feels like a natural progression for our team and another opportunity to broaden the systems and finishes we can confidently deliver.

A big thank you to the Cosentino team for taking the time to host us, walk us through the system and look after us with breakfast and coffee.

We’re looking forward to building our collaboration with the team at Premier Stone, expanding our skill set and continuing to strengthen Forever Bright’s capabilities across architectural façade and cladding systems.

Always learning. Always expanding our capabilities. Always looking for better ways to deliver.

We were recently called back to a completed project after a defect was identified from ground level and believed to be associated with the caulking to our cladding works.

Doing the right thing, we returned to site to investigate and rectify the issue if it was ours.

Once we got up close, the “defect” turned out to be nothing more than painter’s tape left behind on the precast panel — completely unrelated to our cladding or caulking works.

It might sound minor, but the callback cost half a day by the time we travelled to site, investigated the issue and closed it out. That is lost time that could have been spent productively elsewhere.

We’ve been following Visibuild closely and have had some good conversations with Heath around improving our systems. Situations like this reinforce exactly why we’re putting more emphasis on proper ITPs, photographic records and close-out procedures.

Sometimes a callback will absolutely be our responsibility — and when it is, we’ll own it and fix it.

But when it isn’t, we need the documentation in place to demonstrate that clearly.

A simple ITP and photographic record completed at the time of installation could potentially have prevented this return visit altogether.

We’re looking forward to working with the Visibuild team and tightening up these systems across Forever Bright.

Less unnecessary rework.
Less wasted time.
Better accountability.
