This month, we’re reflecting on the impact of technology on our planet, including artificial intelligence.

While AI can bring innovation and convenience, it also comes with a significant environmental footprint. Large AI systems require powerful data centres that consume vast amounts of electricity and water for cooling. As usage grows, so does the demand on already strained energy systems, often still powered by fossil fuels.

Happy New Year, my beautiful community!

The Year of the Horse has begun, and the horse carries the spirit of Madre Terra, a symbol of trusting your own rhythm, moving with intention, and embracing freedom in your choices. I love this energy as we step into a new year: trusting ourselves, slowing down, and following our own path rather than rushing to keep up with everything around us.

I took a little break from social media because I felt like I was going in circles. I realized I’d been posting just to get likes and follows, trying to keep up with what I thought the algorithm wanted. Chasing trends isn’t really me so it was time to step back and focus on what truly matters.

When I started this business, it wasn’t just to make products, it was to live and share a more conscious, intentional life. To slow down, choose better, and create things that matter. Life is busy, and plastic is everywhere, but even small choices can make a real difference, for our health, our homes, and the future we’re shaping for our children.

We’re pressing pause to soak up some sunshine, recharge, and spend slow, intentional days with our loved ones.

Madre Terra will be closed 28 December – 15 January.
All orders placed during this time will be lovingly packed and sent out from 16 January onwards.
