It’s been a little while since I’ve posted here, so I thought I’d share a little update on where The One-Eyed Muse is at.
I’ve decided not to go to markets as regularly anymore. Markets have taken up a lot of my energy, and somewhere along the way, I realised I wanted to give more of that energy back to what I love most — making art, drawing, experimenting, and simply talking about art for the sake of understanding it, feeling it and finding meaning in it.
This is definitely not a post about me stopping art. Quite the opposite.
I’m exploring what being an artist can look like beyond one medium, one title, one occupation or one version of ourselves.
Lately, that has meant taking up dance — choreography and street jazz — and discovering what movement can teach me about creativity, expression and the body. It’s another way of making, another way of seeing.
And I think that’s something I want The One-Eyed Muse to stand for.
We don’t have to be just one thing.
We don’t have to choose one occupation, one title, one path and stay there forever.
That sounds a little boring to me.
I don’t want to be a cog in a machine. I want to be free-forming, free-styling, free-living. I want to follow curiosity wherever it takes me — whether that’s drawing, dance, books, travel, conversations, or something I haven’t discovered yet.
We are all artists in our own way.
Finding my own artist way has been my main focus these past few months. And I’m excited to share more of that journey with you.
