A little life update from behind the scenes 🤍

I’ve been a little quiet on social media lately… and this is why. 🥹

Hearth & Acres is heading to its first ever market this Friday at the Sunset Markets at Bargara Berries!!

The last few weeks have been a mix of creating products, rendering tallow, labelling, organising stock, planning displays and trying to get everything ready behind the scenes. 😅

So while I may have been quieter online, things have definitely still been happening here.

I’ll be bringing along a range of our handmade tallow skincare, including a limited batch of Vanilla Bean Whipped Tallow Moisturiser and Vanilla Bean Renewal Facial Serum.

Also coming along will be some of our regular range including whipped tallow moisturisers, balms, soap and more.
Everything is handmade in small batches and made with love locally in Moore Park Beach 🤍
If you’ve been wanting to see the products in person, smell them, try textures or just say hello, I’d love to meet you 🫶

One thing about handmade skincare? No two batches are ever exactly the same.

Colour, texture, scent, and even the final whipped look can vary slightly from batch to batch - especially when working with natural ingredients like tallow, beeswax, jojoba, and resin infusions.

Temperature, the season, the raw ingredients themselves, and the handcrafting process all play a part.

It’s not factory-made. It’s made in small batches, by hand — and that little bit of variation is part of what makes it special.

Every jar still follows the same formulation and care, just with the natural uniqueness that comes from real ingredients.

A little milestone for Hearth & Acres! 🤎✨

From rendering and late nights at home… to seeing these products sitting on a shop shelf in the community is something I’m really grateful for.

Tallow is a traditional skin care ingredient made by slowly rendering beef suet into a clean, nourishing fat.
For generations, it’s been used in balms, soaps, and moisturisers because of its rich texture and simplicity. At Hearth & Acres, each batch is slowly rendered by hand in small batches here in Queensland. ✨

Most people see the finished reel, polished photo or packed order.
What they don’t always see is everything happening behind the scenes at the same time.
Making products.
Filming content.
Editing videos.
Answering messages.
Packing orders.
Trying to keep up with the algorithm.
And still trying to be present at home too.
Running a handmade business today means wearing every hat; maker, photographer, videographer, customer service, shipping department and social media manager all in one.
So if you support small businesses in any way: liking, commenting, sharing, or ordering - it genuinely means more than you probably realise 🤍

Second render under way! I love the colours when the tallow is starting to melt.

This is the result after the first render.
Because the first stage was a wet render, it will now go back into the pot for multiple slow dry renders until all remaining moisture is removed.
Taking the extra time here helps create a clean, stable tallow ready for skincare. ✨
