A little behind the scenes of piping our Father’s Day Coffee & Vanilla Whipped Tallow 🤎

One little thing worth knowing about this batch — because we keep our formulas simple and don’t use ingredients just to control texture, you may notice a slightly grainy feel develop over time.

It melts almost instantly with the warmth of your skin. Rub it between your fingers or massage it in and it smooths straight out.

It doesn’t change how I use it, and it doesn’t change what’s inside the jar — it’s simply one of those quirks that can come with keeping things simple.

Coffee, vanilla, tallow + jojoba. That’s it.

This range started with the men in my own family — my husband, my dad and my father-in-law. The kind of men who don’t ask for much, but appreciate the simple things. A quiet coffee. A few minutes to themselves. Something practical that’s made well.

Your skin barrier healed when I stopped buying serums.

In 2026, everyone's selling you a skin barrier product. My skin actually healed when I stopped buying them.

Here's what no one's telling you ↓

Your skin barrier is made of lipids — fatty acids that hold everything together and keep moisture in. When it's damaged, skin gets dry, tight, reactive, and sensitive.

The word 'natural' on a skincare label means almost nothing in Australia.

There's no regulated definition. No certification required. No minimum percentage of natural ingredients. Any brand can put it on any product, any time.

Some 'natural' ranges contain 1 to 2% plant extract, with the rest being synthetic fillers, emulsifiers, and preservatives. The extract makes the marketing possible. The label makes the sale.

We're not saying synthetic is always harmful. We're saying you deserve to know what's actually in what you're putting on your skin.

Our ingredient lists are short enough to read in 30 seconds. We think that should be the standard, not the exception.

Tallow is rendered beef fat. That's it.

We know that sounds simple. Maybe even a little strange if you haven't come across it in skincare before. But there's a reason it works so well, and it comes down to what your skin is made of.

Human skin cells contain a high proportion of saturated and monounsaturated fats. Tallow is made up of those same fats in a similar ratio. This is why it absorbs readily and doesn't sit on the surface of the skin the way many modern moisturisers do.

It's also a natural source of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, present in the ingredient itself, not added separately.

Before petrochemical-based skincare took over in the mid-20th century, tallow was one of the most widely used ingredients in balms and creams. It's not a new idea. It's a return to something that always worked.
