It was so wonderful to see so many of you at the celebration event last Saturday! I really enjoyed chatting to you all and hearing so many curious questions and lovely comments about the artwork.

The Stitch with Sappho soundscape “The Voice that Remains” evolved during the workshop series. Ada attended several workshops and delighted us with her recitation of Sappho’s poetry in the Ancient Aeolic Greek. This is the language that Sappho spoke and in which her poems were originally written. I am very grateful to Ada for agreeing to record all 197 Fragments of Sappho spoken in their original words to accompany the exhibition. It has added a richness that I could not have otherwise achieved - creating a living connection between the ancient poet and our present moment. Stitch with Sappho - community art project

Next Sunday I’m running a small Thread Drawing Workshop in my Mordialloc Studio.

We’ll explore freehand machine embroidery as a way of drawing. No previous embroidery (or drawing) experience is necessary. I’ll show you how I work with the machine and you’ll create your own thread drawing to take home.
This is a relaxed hands on workshop with plenty of individual guidance. Class numbers are small. All materials and equipment provided.

It’s been a big weekend! Friday night was the opening of our show Le Studio Gallery and what a fabulous night! Big shout out to the dream team Robyn Bottomley 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 | Art | Luxe Fashion & Lifestyle range Lynelle Madison for their incredible organisation and curation skills to bring it all together. I feel grateful to be amongst such a fabulous talented bunch of artists at Le Studio 😊Thanks Sophia Sophia ꩜ for photos 1-6 🙏 The exhibition is open for the next 2 weeks 10am-2pm daily. Great artworks on display and for sale.
