So… I still haven’t done any work on the new greenhouses guys! This winter was just focused on getting the gardens ready to what I invisage them to be. And I am almost there.
I have planted Tay Berries, an Orange, Pomegranate, Mandarin, Lime and Persimmon tree. I have replanted a seed grown peach or Nectarine tree and it is doing so well. I have replanted gooseberry and current bushes and they are all on automatic irrigation now and growing so well.
The passion fruit I planted last year has finally taken and flowered in autumn resulting in a first unripe passion fruit! So exciting!
I have also planted 24m of raspberries. There are a Golden and a thornless summer variety and more of the Autum Bliss I had. 7-8m of each, also on automatic irrigation that I build myself.
I have 4 varieties of Potatoes growing, a whole bed of onions and 4 varieties of garlic and kale and silverbeet coming out if my ears.
I have also started a massive compost pipe so that hopefully I won’t have to keep buying in soil for the gardens. Thanks to my lovely neigbours that let me pick cow manure and even carted some horse manure across the road. My neigbours rock!
So now - I need to build a tomato trellis and plant out the summer seedlings and then… then I will start working on the new greenhouses.
I’ll keep you posted.
Oh - and my favourite fig tree is having the first fruit as well. Ahhh
