We have a little helper at the studio. He had his Performance Review today. This is how he went:

- 10/10 always happy.
- 8/10 very chatty but distractible…
- 10/10 has great fashion taste!
- 3/10 unfortunately can’t post our orders.
- 1000/10 for the level of kawaii!

Overall, I 100% recommend the rabbit!
You need your own helper at home so order your kit from our Etsy shop (link in bio).

Ps: We need a name for our little helper. Comment below with your suggested name.

Today, a lady came to the studio. She showed me her progress with the kit she recently purchased. She is a beginner, but let’s be honest, it is so good! It also shows how quickly you can learn.

For me, craft is about having fun, experimenting new things and trying new techniques. It can also be comforting and simply following easy instructions. There are no fixed rules of what I should or shouldn’t do, as long as I let my creativity run free. I love adding unexpected small details that will make me smile. Look at these details!

So next time you’re wondering if you’re doing the right thing, just relax and enjoy the process!

This cute kimono is one of our Quilt-Along blocks. When you join the Quilt-Along, you receive:
• Japanese cotton fabric,
• Paper piecing shapes printed for you to cut,
• Step by step instructions to create your own kimono, the central piece of your quilt.

It’s a great way to learn new techniques.

Every New Year, we release our Fukubukuro bags on the 1st of January!

What is a Fukubukuro Bag? Fukubukuro (or “lucky bags”) are sold by retailers which are filled with assorted goodies from the store. Customers purchase them without knowing the exact contents, although I do give hints!

Due to their popularity, lucky bags disappear from the shelves very quickly. The excitement lies in the surprise of what’s inside. Traditionally it can be a hit or a miss—bags containing less-desired items are called fukobukuro, meaning “misfortune bag.” There’s no guarantee of what you’ll receive, making it all part of the fun and a true game of chance.

This is the one time in the year you can purchase goodies from Little Japanese Haberdashery at discounted prices. They are heavily reduced at up to 60% off!

Our Fukubukuro bags will be released on 1st January at 10:00 am (Hobart time), so set your alarms—these always sell out VERY FAST.

I am unable to find the link to the image collected a few years ago. Apologise to the designer.
