GOODBYE TWENTY-TWENTY 🎉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hello! We’ve been very quiet on here and there’s a few of you who have only recently started following along, so we thought best to give an official hello 👋🏼 and small update
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The past month has been nothing short of chaos around the Project Sort headquarters. Broken cars, sick animals, sick kids x18267, family emergencies, you name it and it’s probably happened.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We were due to officially take time off from the week before Christmas, but in the first week of December I injured my back (again) and am taking a lot longer to recover than usual. Then to top it all off, we lost our beautiful little dachshund Duck just a few days ago. Today is still the same as yesterday despite it being a new year, but it does come with a feeling of refreshment and new chances.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We unfortunately won’t be booking in any new clients until we can finalise all of our current clients (who have been nothing short of amazing and understanding at the unexpected delay).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So for us, the year ended with more of a fizzle than a bang 💥 but we wanted to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have supported us this year.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wether you’re a client, a cheerleader, or someone who’s just lurked in the background. If you’ve liked, shared, saved our posts, and engaged with our content, we truly mean it when we say thank you 🙏🏼

Donating & Decluttering - When to donate?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With most places opening back up for donations now here in Sydney, it got us thinking about donating during the decluttering process.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Below we’ve listed 3 things to keep in mind when getting rid of “stuff” 👇🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Only donate items that are new, unused, or “gently used,” which means items that are in good condition, clean, and presentable. Do not donate items in disrepair that don't work properly, are missing parts, or are ripped, torn, or stained
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ It's easier to get rid of things when you're giving them to someone who can use them, but don't let this kind intention become a source of clutter itself. Piles of stuff sitting around waiting until you see that person again? It’s probably just easier to donate it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ Weigh up wether it’s worth your time and energy to try and sell the item. Is it worth the $10 to have it taking up space not only in your home but also on your mental load? Attempting to sell your items will only slow down the process of decluttering, donating the item instead will mean the item leaves your 🏡 much quicker

Tuesday Tip: Layering

Decanting in a deep space? If you're unable to use tiered shelving like in the space here from , consider using containers of different heights. This will allow you to see which product is where at a quick glance 👀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you look closely, you'll notice that there are actually TWENTY decanted goods on one single shelf! All easily accessible and easy to grab.

Would you have guessed there were 20 different types of food on that one shelf?

Clearing Clutter ✨

Clearing clutter means making choices and creating order. Tag a friend who needs to hear this!

Once you start to create order, you can recognise what systems and strategies work for you. Then, you can start creating habits based around these systems 🙏🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Broken down into step form it would look like this 👇
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Declutter the hallway table
2️⃣ Create a system and solution for problems i.e keys everywhere
3️⃣ Install system - key bowl for example
4️⃣ Create new habit = keys into key bowl
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Seems so simple when it's broken down like that doesn't it!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On another note, how many keys do you have on your keyring and do you know what they're all for? 🔑

I only have 3. Car, screen door, front door. Plus the garage door remote. Maybe one day i'll get a keyless start car and a keyless entry lock and never have to get them out of my bag again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tuesday Tip: Small spaces

You might be tempted to be sucked in to the current, glass storage and bamboo lid trend, but if you’re working with a smaller space then square and stackable is your best friend!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As shown here by the lovely , plastic, square, and stackable containers really do make the best use of space when surface area is at a minimum. This style of container allows you to take full advantage of the vertical space in your pantry ⬆️
