🌸🩷 CLEAN vs. STERILE 🩷🌸

Let’s talk about something that clients don’t see enough of:
A studio that looks clean is not automatically a studio that is safe.

Sterility isn’t about pretty surfaces, good lighting, or a tidy workstation.
It’s about protocols, knowledge, and consistent habits.

A professional, sterile tattoo studio means:

🧼 Single-use equipment opened in front of the client
🧪 Proper disinfection cycles with medical-grade products
🩼 Understanding cross-contamination (and how to avoid it)
🧤 Correct PPE: gloves changed at the right time, not just when they “look dirty”
🚮 Safe disposal systems for sharps and contaminated materials
🪑 Barriers and wrapping on anything that might be touched during the process
📚 Training — because sterility requires knowledge, not assumptions

Anyone can wipe a bench and make it look clean.
But knowing what to look for — what can actually spread bacteria, viruses, ink residue, or bloodborne pathogens — is what separates a professional studio from an unsafe one.

A tattoo is a controlled medical procedure performed on the skin.

Today was one of those sessions that reminds me exactly why I love what I do.
This client purchased two Flash tattoos during my former Black Friday sale… and throughout the year we brought them to life, one by one. 🖤✨

The peony you see is fresh from today’s session, still bright and vibrant, while the yellow flowers next to it are over 6 months healed.
I personally love this mix of timing, texture, and how the skin matures — it tells a story, a journey, a whole year of shared art and trust.

How many hours does it actually take me to design a tattoo for you?

People often think the design just… appears.
But the truth is that every single piece I create is the result of hours of work, connection, and a whole lot of beautiful chaos.

It all starts with our in-person consultation , where you show me your inspo, I take photos of your body, and most importantly, I listen to your story.
I take so many notes… and if you’ve met me and worked with me before, you already know how messy I get during this stage (notes everywhere, scribbles, coffee, chaos = the whole vibe).

From there, the deep dive begins.
I start collecting references from Pinterest, Google, books, anatomy folders, nature photos, and my giant archive of images from past projects. Then I mix, match, zoom in, zoom out , creating mood boards that honestly can take me days to refine until they “click”.

And once the concept is solid?
I design multiple versions of the same project, often completely different approaches, compositions, or shapes around your body.
But in the end, I usually show you only my favourite one, the one that feels right, the one that tells your story in the strongest way.

So how long does it take?
Anywhere between 5 and 20+ hours for a single design depending on the size, complexity, details, or whether we’re working on a cover-up.

Art takes time.
Your story deserves that time.
And I absolutely love every minute of creating something meaningful for you. 🖤

A quick note about consultations: Prices will only be provided after an initial consultation. During this session, we’ll discuss size, placement, and final colors.

Recently, someone laughed at me for asking them to come in for a consultation. But for me, it’s absolutely essential. I need to see your skin in person to ensure the colors complement your tone. I also like to get a feel for your overall vibe and personality—this allows me to create a tattoo that feels authentically you, even if you’re choosing a ready-made piece. Sometimes, even the smallest adjustments to color or element size can make a huge difference.

🌸 🌸 We’re nearly finished coloring Connie’s flowers in a beautiful variety of pinks, and her journey is a true testament to the power of transformation and self-expression. At 55, she’s embracing a new chapter, imagining herself adorned in a stunning ‘armor of flowers’ as she rides her motorcycle, hair flowing freely in the wind.
