We had the cutest kookaburra visit our back deck the other day! 🤎🐦 I always enjoy hearing stories about your own feathered friend visitors when I’m at the markets. In fact - it’s already come around to market time again!

Thank you so much everyone for your huge outpouring of love from my previous post ❤️❤️ your messages were so uplifting and inspiring, and even though I’ve not been on here for a lot of the year, seeing lots of new and familiar names pop up made me feel so loved and connected to the community I’ve got to know over these years.

So many of you are down in Cleveland where I’ve been doing markets for nearly 10 years!! 😱 and this is where I’m going to be for my first market back tomorrow ☺️🌈

Personal Update. I haven’t been on here for the better part of 2025. Earlier this year, I started experiencing unusual neurological symptoms, including headaches, severe visual disorientation, and nausea. On Good Friday (my last market day), I became very unwell, and by the evening I was in emergency, where doctors performed a CT and MRI brain scan. The results were not what I was expecting. The scans found a colloid cyst, a rare type of brain tumour that appears in just 3 in every million people. Fortunately, they are benign and slow growing, but it’s right in the centre of my brain, and if it grows to a certain size, it can have catastrophic consequences.
 At the time I only had days to process what was still vague information (because it’s so rare) as they worked to schedule me for neurosurgery. It was mentally some of the worst days I’ve ever experienced in my life. Thankfully, in that time we were able to secure a second opinion with an angel private neurosurgeon, who talked me through everything, advised against immediate surgery and instead referred me to a large team of specialists for further testing. Over those months, with ongoing care, some lifestyle adjustments and medication, I’ve been able to reduce the neurological symptoms. Recent scans show the cyst is stable and hasn’t grown any bigger, so I’ve thankfully avoided brain surgery for now, and feeling so much better.
 I don’t know what the future holds but it’s been an unbelievably big wake up call, and a realisation that your body sends you signs when something is not right, and it’s so important to listen to those signs. Even if it’s something so tiny, it’s worth your peace of mind to get it checked. I am grateful for your patience this year when at times I took weeks between replying or delays sending orders.
If you’ve read this far…thank you. And - I’m so excited to say I’m slowly returning to markets. My first one back is next Wed 13th (Ekka Show Holiday) for the Crazy Day on Bloomfield St. I will be so happy to see your faces - more than ever! 🥹🙏🏻☀️

Earthdrawn Studio is an Australian brand offering premium art prints and greeting cards that feature the work of watercolour & pencil artist Carlie Edwards.

Growing up among the bush & beach in Byron Bay Australia, was the foundation and inspiration behind much of Carlie’s work. Starting off with a humble little market stall selling a small range of prints, Carlie was blown away by the love and support from the community, and what began as a weekend hobby around her corporate day job quickly blossomed into a fulltime business.

Upon exploring the collection, you’ll be drawn into an enchanting world of colour, imagination and intricate details, all created with hundreds of coloured pencils and an enormous amount of love. From tiny strands of fur to the glisten in each animal’s eye, it all comes together one stroke at a time, and each artwork can take up to 60 hours to complete. Through this meticulous work and detailing, it’s Carlie’s goal to offer unique pieces of art that will transform your interior, children’s room or nursery, and make you smile every day.

The iconic Spirit Animal series began unintentionally, when an upcoming major surgery led Carlie to draw a regal bohemian lion piece as a symbol of ghting fear and being brave. After feeling the positive impact of creating the artwork and its symbolism, Carlie wanted to share this energy to uplift and inspire others in their own journeys, and this lion became the first artwork in the Spirit Animal Totem Collection. Every animal is carefully studied and selected for their beautiful meanings, which adds a personal touch and makes them a popular gift choice. This is what many children and adults alike continue to be ‘drawn to’, and this is what the brand name Earthdrawn Studio was later based upon.
