A few little Winter Soirée moments I’m still not over ❤️

I loved creating this one, sculptural, a little unexpected and designed to sit beautifully within Laura and Maddy’s incredible vision for the evening.

The Winter Soirée was such a special opportunity to create florals that became part of the styling itself, from statement arrangements to suspended flowers and all the little details in between.

Last night I had the absolute honour and pleasure of speaking to the Coal River Valley Garden Club about my journey with The Richmond Flower Company.

Standing in a room full of passionate and incredibly knowledgeable gardeners was a little daunting but what an amazing evening it turned out to be.

I shared the story of how this little flower farm began (1 year ago today), the lessons I’ve learnt (often the hard way!), the successes, the failures, and why I keep coming back to one simple philosophy:

Start. Learn. Fail. Share. Try again.

The conversations afterwards were probably my favourite part. So many questions, stories exchanged, kind words and genuine enthusiasm for what I’m building here in Richmond.

When I started growing flowers, I certainly didn’t imagine I’d one day be standing up talking about it to a room full of gardeners. But last night felt like one of those little moments where you realise just how far you’ve come.

Thank you to the Coal River Valley Garden Club for inviting me and for such a warm welcome and I’m proud to call myself a member now!

Here’s to continuing to grow, in every sense of the word.

A little farm update

I haven’t been able to spend as much time on the farm as I’d like lately while I’m still recovering from my back surgeries and liver issues, so it felt really good to be back today fertilising, checking on everything and seeing what’s been happening while I’ve been away.

The sweet peas and anemones are looking so good and really starting to come along 🤍

The strawflowers are VERY happy, healthy, strong and clearly enjoying themselves.

The poppies are a bit more of a mixed bag… some are looking fantastic, others are making me question all of my life choices 😂 We’ll see who decides to cooperate.

And the Purple Rain alliums are just starting to pop through! 💜 I’m very excited to see these come into flower.

Finishing back with the sweet peas and anemones because I’m absolutely not showing you the ranunculus yet 😂 They’re still small, taking their sweet time and apparently determined to teach me patience.

They’ll get there.

For now, I’m just very happy to see the farm slowly waking up and signs of spring appearing everywhere 🌱

A little look at what went into three beautiful bouquets for Kayla 🤍

The flower bench was filled with some of the loveliest things growing on the farm right now — fragrant jonquils, delicate snowdrops, Scabiosa and golden wattle, all becoming hero flowers in these seasonal bouquets.

I love this part of creating, gathering everything together before I start and seeing the colours, shapes and textures that will eventually become something completely different.

A little snapshot of the Tasmanian winter flower season, gathered into three beautiful bouquets ✨

Bold. Sculptural. Seasonal.
Red hot pokers reaching skyward, layers of crimson ranunculus, twisting branches and textural eryngium, proof that flowers don't need to follow the rules to be beautiful.

Beautifully captured by the incredibly talented . 🤍

A little burst of colour to celebrate a very special birthday. 💛🌸

This bouquet was created for Abby’s sister, bringing together soft blush roses, cheerful jonquils, textural natives and seasonal blooms, all wrapped with plenty of lush foliage for a garden-inspired feel.

There’s something so special about creating flowers that help celebrate life’s milestones. Happy Birthday! 🥂✨

Sometimes flowers aren't just flowers. They're atmosphere.
From the candlelit staircase to sculptural florals, suspended blooms and thoughtfully layered tablescapes, every detail was designed to transform this beautiful heritage space into an immersive experience.
Seeing these images taken by Sophie for the first time has been incredibly special. I'm so grateful to have been part of bringing this vision to life alongside such a talented team.
I can't wait to share more from this unforgettable evening over the coming weeks.

Every arrangement tells a story, and this one feels especially special.

Created for the Winter Soirée, this design brings together rich burgundy hydrangeas, roses, orchids and contemporary florals in an abundant, sculptural arrangement.

One of my favourite details? The brown cymbidium orchids were grown here on my flower farm in Richmond. Seeing flowers I’ve nurtured become part of an installation like this is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

I love creating designs that feel immersive, layered and full of movement, where every stem has a purpose.

I can’t wait to create more pieces like this.
