In creating Melodic Hare, my paper mache rabbit sculpture, I sought to explore the harmonious intersection between nature, music, and imagination.

This one-of-a-kind bowl is hand-moulded over a dried gourd form, giving it a gently irregular, wabi-sabi silhouette that feels organic and soft. The exterior is richly textured using a Melaleuca seedpod, creating hundreds of tiny rounded impressions that echo Australian paperbark and coastal seed heads. Soft ecru and honey shades with a chalky white wash highlight every curve and crater, adding depth and a quietly weathered look suited to Japandi or nature-inspired interiors. Lightweight yet sturdy, it’s ideal as a decorative centrepiece or a gentle catch-all for dry items like shells, jewellery, keys or keepsakes, bringing a touch of wild Australian botanicals into your home.
