🫣 Ouch… the team are absolutely going to come for me after this one.
But the stats don’t lie.
Apparently Jamie outperforms a perfectly styled, aesthetically pleasing, on brand product photo when it comes to sales.
I know. I’m offended too.
Turns out people love a chat, a story, a “have you smelt this one yet?” and a full fragrance breakdown before committing. Who would’ve thought?
He talks.
They laugh.
They buy.
Meanwhile our beautifully curated candle flat lays are sitting there like “Excuse me???”
So fine. Credit where it’s due. He’s good with customers. He loves a chat. He remembers your dog’s name. He’ll upsell you a diffuser without you even realising.
I get it… (sort of).

A Note on Pricing 🤍
We wanted to take a moment to be open and honest with you all.
Over the past four years, we have worked incredibly hard to absorb rising costs across materials, packaging, freight and production without passing those increases on. Unfortunately, we’ve now reached a point where we can no longer do that sustainably.
In the coming weeks, there will be a small price increase on selected items only, not across our entire range. These changes apply solely to products that have experienced the most significant cost increases.
We understand that our products sit in the luxury space and are priced accordingly, and we never take price changes lightly. However, after four years without adjustment, a fair and considered increase is necessary to allow us to continue creating the high quality, locally made pieces you know and love.
We truly appreciate your ongoing support, understanding and loyalty, it means the world to our small business and allows us to keep doing what we do best.

My name is Kristine and i am the Mama behind the Essential candle co.
I am a self confessed candle-aholic and online shopper.
The essential candle co. was a concept created by myself and my partner following the birth of our first baby. We wanted to be able to burn candles and melt wax melts in our home without all the bad stuff, we didn’t want our daughter breathing in all the horrendous chemicals some candles hold these days. So we began experimenting with all natural products that we can now call The essential candle co.
our candles are triple scented with 100% soy wax, our candles are double wicked with a cotton braid wick that is led free and we also stock wooden wick candles. After months of trial and error we have perfected the perfect candle, with great cold and hot scent throw.
Our candles are hand poured using top quality soy wax that is biodegradable and free from pesticides. Our candles are palm oil free, they contain no genetically modified materials or petroleum and are manufactured using pure soy beans.
Our candles contain full fragrance, which is non toxic and body friendly. Our glassware has been sourced with the utmost quality, chosen for re-usability. “We like to grow cuttings in ours”and they are paired with a natural timber lid.
We are constantly taking steps to improve our environmental impact, starting from the processes and materials we use. The ingredients used in our candles are never tested on animals and are 100% vegan and Kosher.
Our range will continue to grow and develop as seasons change, keep checking in for all the latest products.
