Market Wrap-Up: The Almost Winter Big Design Market unfolded across one of those crisp, sunny Melbourne autumn weekends.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by over the three days, whether you were discovering RS Studio for the first time or returning for another lamp. Seeing familiar faces again means a lot, especially after spending so much time designing and making these pieces quietly in the studio.
The newly released Portable Bubble Lamp in Queensland Maple received a warm response. The timber has this beautiful wavy, shimmering grain that almost seems to move in the light, and it quickly became one of the stand-out pieces of the weekend. It will now officially become part of the core range.
There was also strong interest in the new Tall Portable Bubble Lamps, which has sent me straight back into the workshop this week to keep up with orders.
Tasmanian Blackwood timber continued to be a favourite too, with its rich golden-brown tones and dramatic streaking that makes every lamp slightly different.
