Australia Post, you've excelled πŸ–•

Allan's one piece heater fascia with AC upgrade was delivered to him in two pieces. Unfortunately, neither he OR us are overly impressed by that. That's not really the end result after many, many hours of modifications and restoration, that we wanted to achieve.
(We were pretty happy with how it turned out thanks, no further modifications were required.)

Considering we use oversized cartons, literally metres of bubble wrap and additional packaging to prevent such things from happening, you've gone above and beyond to achieve this result. I'm reasonably confident that all of our customers can attest, we package their components well.

To turn many hours of passion, dedication, skill and restoration into a two piece worthless piece of s**t in worse condition than when it was sent to us, we'd like to pass on our gratitude to you, Australia Post, your contractors and EVERYONE who had a part in delivering this package.....

F**K YOU VERY MUCH πŸ–•πŸ˜‘πŸ–•

Stripping out a bunch of HT HG instruments and they never disappoint. Some people do some weird things.

Someone has had a go at winding the clock back and turned the odometer into a jumbled mess.
Yes that shaft and gears are fiddly to get to align but they really do serve a purpose. A bit more patience and you probably would have got it πŸ‘Œ

As for the person who lost a nut that ended up in the tacho workings, I hope you don't work on carburettors 😬

Then there's the nail polished needles, texta coloured in faceplates.

They had a go πŸ‘Œ

A couple of HK tachos recently completed.

Chris' 307 is running a completely stock set up with points ignition so he opted to leave the original circuit board. It was recalibrated with a complete facelift.

Jordan's copped the whole treatment. Full overhaul with a new digital circuit board, suitable for points, HEI & CDI ignition systems. We also upgraded it to LED illumination πŸ‘Œ

We can either restore your original HK tacho for you or supply a restoration kit for you to DIY at home. Kits include new housing, lens, bezel and faceplate.

Shoot us a message if you're interested.

We've been playing with diecast for many months now and these are the first results.

This is NOT a service that we are currently providing. It's something we're currently testing. These will be fitted to a mates cars so we can monitor how they hold up over time. As diecast is known for, these could explode with corrosion and bubble up in no time, or not ever.
Time will tell.

This post isn't to advertise tail light housings, it's to show we're working on other things, trying and testing new methods AND waiting to see how things hold up with time.

IF we do go ahead with this as a service, it won't be until late 2027. It won't be cheap. It's incredibly labour intensive and expensive.

Please don't message us about pricing or availability, these are not available, we're just testing new things......

Saturday afternoon shed sessions watching Nitro Funny Cars on TV and stripping, repairing and prepping plastic when we noticed this.

Sean's pair of HKTG short consoles ready to go in the acid, when we noticed the different masking lines between the two.

Have never seen the mask line on the left console before, all of the ones we've done have been the same as the one on the right.
Also, the one on the left has had carpet glued in the bottom like a full length console. Haven't seen that before either....

Another thing we've noticed lately with these is that a few of them we've stripped appear to have been repainted, from what we believe is by the factory. Our acids and other chemicals remove most paints, but won't touch the paint as used by GM-H. So we can see what colour it was, what colour it became and also whatever rattle can respray it's had in its life.

Can anyone identify the colours by model? (Our identification is one's blue, the other isn't) They both appear to be the same blue originally, with the gold one repainted.

We "assume" different assembly plants, same as the long consoles being either black or interior colour????

Any rivet counters have any thoughts? It's not something that interests or bothers us too much, but if someone's dropping $200+K on a Premier resto, we can mask it a little differently for them when we mask and paint it.
