I can nearly make a bouquet which means SPRING IS HERE 🧚‍♂️

It hit 25 degrees in Mount Coolum today and I can already see the sprigs of flower stalks planted in late autumn starting to shoot up.

Snapdragons, Statice, Queen Anne’s and Yarrow are all making their way into bunches soon 🌸

Spring starts from August 1st on the Sunny Coast!

It’s time for the dahlias to start waking up, direct seeding spring and summer varieties and chasing the bush turkeys away from the newly laid mulch 🌞

As a fun experiment I’m giving dahlia seeds a crack instead of focusing solely on tubers.

With a new baby I’m fairly time poor on trying new filler varieties so I’m going to be relying on the old faithfuls including cosmos and zinnia as well as African Hawaii Marigolds that bloom prolifically in the heat!

Gomphrena is one of those flowers you turn your back on for a week and HELLO it’s out of control.

So I pulled it all for drying — no support netting went in this season so a lot of wonky stems were discarded to get a few nice bunches hung up 🧚‍♂️
