This is the part nobody sees, and it's easily the part that takes the longest.
Setting up for Life in Style means measuring everything twice, laying it all out, then standing back and moving the same candle about four times because it just wasn't sitting right. Hours of it, before a single buyer walks past the stand.
I do it like this every time because what goes on that stand isn't just stock to me. It's named after my three boys and it started on our kitchen table during one of the harder chapters of our lives, so I want it looking like it actually means something.
But here's the bit I really wanted to say with this post.
The shops that stock Three Suns aren't just stores. They're small businesses run by real people who put their own money on the line and gave up their own shelf space for a little Australian brand, when they could have played it safe with the big names everyone already knows. That's a genuine risk they take on us and we don't take it for granted for a second.
So if there's a boutique or florist or gift shop near you, please go in and see them. Have a chat, buy your candle from them, tell them we sent you. Those shops are what keep our towns feeling like actual places rather than a row of the same three chains.
