We’re proud to share that Città designer Nikolai Sorensen has been selected as a judge for the upcoming Best Design Awards. Over the course of judging week, Nikolai will join fellow design professionals to review this year’s entries in the Industrial Design category.

Being invited to judge the Best Awards is a significant honour within New Zealand’s design community. Judges are chosen for their expertise, experience, and contribution to the industry. The role is a testament to Nikolai’s own success at the awards, where he has contributed to award-winning designs including the Pinch Vase, Thao Woven Basket, Point Lighting, and AB Lighting.

Congratulations, Nikolai–a well-deserved recognition. We look forward to celebrating the awards on 9 October.

Città founder Margot Acland and designer Nikolai Sorensen recently attended the renowned festival in Copenhagen.

“The city has such a rich design heritage, and this is supercharged during 3 Days of Design,” shares Nikolai. “The overall feeling of the fair was ‘less, but better’ with small, curated collections and purposeful pieces designed for longevity rather than trend-chasing. It was a more considered approach to design, which is something we pride ourselves on at Città.”

Highlights included exploring the latest collections from some of the international brands we stock, including ’s new Bascule lounge chair, ’s Vinkle portable lamp, and ’s Original 315 desk lamp.
